  • 1 x open logitect usb mike
  • 1 x logitech usb headsets for participants,
  • 1 x laptop speakers
  • 15 x usb headphone for participants

The ideal option:  Highlighting Adobe Connect Features with Host, Presenter and Participant  

  

Two projector side by side to demonstrate different profile views i.e Host, Participant view.

Facilitator and assistant for support.

Prior to event


Overview Connect and Communication tools

  • Welcome every body ask which participants already use the internet for communication, I.e. text chat, VOIP Skype etc.
  • Talk about real time communication synchronous communication how useful and easy it is….
  • Talk about TAFE licence and Illawarra Training room web address
  • Talk about format of show and tell i.e. Trainer demonstrating with laptop and overhead projector working with assistant on another computer.
  • Participants working through hands on tasks individual at desktop and as group around projection screens.
  • Show Adobe Connect demo Movie

Group Activity – Using communication tools, audio, chat,

Group Activity - Changing Profiles

  • Facilitator works though the steps on projector screen, preparing the audio, reference the ‘Making your audio work – Handout’.
  • Log into training room as host and have assistant log in as presenter on another computer.
  • Introduce the Adobe Connect interface (reference name change from Breeze) and concept of pods.
  • Have discussion with audio pod and pass the mike around. Have a chat with the chat pod. Reference the Video Pod
  • Describe how Activity 1 will work i.e. each participant will follow the steps, plug in headset, log on use the communication tools, audio and video take it in turns to introduce them selves.
  • Talk about typical connect meeting with facilitator directing flow of conversation with host permissions
  • Introduce the attendee list pod and discuss Host, Presenter and Participant rights refer to Stephans Wiki as resource.
  • Highlight they will all be presenter status with access to communication tools,
  • Show how to change status from drop down list, i.e thumbs up.
  • Emphasize how to turn audio on and off and how to direct chat to everyone or an individual.
  • Play the video for an overview touching on the variety of pods
  • Repeat the reference for locking audio pod on and off, Talk about internet speed and unnecessary use of video.

Participants turn:

  • Hand out headphones, invite to go to desktops direct them to work through 'Making your audio work – Handout' steps.
  • Working through logging on on using basic communication tools.

Actvity 2 – Exploring pods

  • Meeting hosts can prepare a variety of pre-pared layouts ahead of time using the tabs in the bottom left hand corner and choosing ‘Layouts/Organise Layouts’ from the top menu.
  • Activity working hands as a group to familiarise and experiment with presentation and collaboration pods projected on screen.
  • As a group explore the use of the following pods.
  • Share pod
  • Sharing your Screen
  • Documents
  • Whiteboard
  • Note pod
  • Poll pod
  • File share pod
  • Uploading content
  • Web links
  • Identify the participants who will facilitate activity with host permissions and set up adobe connect room for users after event,

  • Facilitator moves around the room supports hosts and participants in running their own practice session in Adobe Connect
