No-Limit Texas Hold’Em House Rules

                                    Multiple Table Tournament

By participating in this tournament, you agree to abide by the rules and behave in a courteous manner. Any violator will first be verbally warned by a Knights of Columbus (KofC) Poker Tournament Committee member. If continued, the violator will be disqualified from the tournament by the KofC Poker Tournament Chairperson and asked to leave the premises thus forfeiting any fees paid. Chips from a disqualified player will be removed from play.

1. Buy-In Fee will be $40.  Each buy-in fee includes $5.00 to cover a bounty on each player entered in the tournament. Players will receive 2,000 in tournament chips for their initial buy-in fee. One optional add-on will be available prior to the start of the tournament at a cost of $20.00.  Players will receive 3,000 in tournament chips for the purchase of the add-on.

2. Prizes to be determined based on number of players in tournament and number of Add-Ons purchased, and will be announced/posted at the first break of the tournament. 60% of all entry fees and add-ons (less the $5.00 bounty) will make up the total prize pool. At least 10% of players will win prizes.

3. All players must be at least 18 years of age to play.

4. No personal checks or credit cards will be accepted at the Tournament Registration Table.  Cash only, please!!

5. All dealers are amateurs and not professional dealers! In the event of a misdeal, all chips bet will be returned to the players and the hand will be re-dealt.

6. Chips have no cash value and may not be “loaned” to other players.

7. Players shall not remove their cards or their chips from the table at any time, including breaks, except their chips when being moved to a new table by a KofC Poker Tournament Representative.

8. Players are responsible to determine that they have the correct number of chips upon receipt of their chips. Once the tournament begins and a player discovers that the starting number of chips is incorrect, those missing chips are forfeited.

9. Players will be randomly assigned a seat at the start of the tournament. These seats will be changed as players are eliminated. The number of players at each table will be kept reasonably balanced by the transfer of players as needed.

10. A change of seat is not allowed after play starts, except as assigned by the KofC Poker Tournament Chairperson(s).

11. In all tournaments using a “Dealer” button, the starting position of the button is determined at the start of the tournament by dealing for the first high card.

12. The “Dealer” button will always rotate to the next available player to the left of the previous “Dealer”, even in the event players are eliminated, or by the transfer of players.

13. Players transferred to a new table are dealt in immediately, except in the instance where the transferred player is placed at the seat that would post the Small Blind.  In this case, the player has the option of posting a Big Blind and playing the hand, or waiting until the button passes before continuing play.

14. The player to the immediate left of the “Dealer” button will post the Small Blind, and the player to the immediate left of the Small Blind will post the Big Blind.

15. A player may skip posting the Small Blind by virtue of player eliminations but may not skip posting the Big Blind. If either player in the blinds is eliminated, the dealer button will move to the next available player, and a "Double Big Blind" will be posted on the next hand.

15. If a player is required to post a blind and is not in their seat, then the KofC Poker Tournament Representative will post the blind for that player.

16. If a player is not present when it becomes their turn to act, that player’s hand will be considered dead and removed from play.

17. Bets and raise amounts must be greater or equal to the Big Blind. There is no upper limit to the bet amount. A player may go “All-In” at any time.

18. Raises are limited to 3 per betting interval. Each player will, however, have at least 1 opportunity to raise during each betting interval.

19. If a player lacks sufficient chips for a blind or a forced bet the player is entitled to get action on whatever amount of chips remains. A player who posts a “short blind” and wins does not need to make up the blind.

20. Blinds will increase at predetermined intervals per the posted Blinds Schedule.

21. When there is a signal designating the end of a betting interval, the new blinds apply on the next deal. A deal begins with the first riffle of the shuffle.

22. A player who declares “all in” and loses the pot then discovers that one or more chips were hidden is not entitled to benefit from this. That player is eliminated from the tournament if the opponent had sufficient chips to cover the hidden ones. If another deal has not yet started, the KofC Poker Chairperson may rule the chips belong to the opponent who won that pot, if that obviously would have happened with the chips out in plain view. If the next deal has started, the discovered chips are removed from the tournament.

23. Showing cards from a live hand during the action injures the rights of other players still competing in the tournament who wish to see contestants eliminated. A player may not show any cards during a deal (unless the tournament has only two remaining players).

24. All hands will be turned face up whenever a player is “all in” and the betting action is complete.

25. When all but two players have been eliminated from the final table, the player to the immediate left of the “Dealer” will post the Small Blind, and the player to that immediate left will post the Big Blind.

26. All players must leave their seats immediately after being eliminated from the tournament and report their elimination at the registration table.

27. If a card falls to the floor at any time during the hand, the dealer or pit boss shall retrieve the card and return it to the player.

28. If two or more hands tie, any odd chip will be awarded to the first hand clockwise from the button who was involved in the hand that resulted in the tie.

29. If two (or more) players go broke during the same game hand, the player starting the hand with the larger amount of money, or if they started with the same amount of monies the player who has the best losing hand, finishes in the higher tournament place for any cash awards.

30. Private agreements by remaining players in a tournament regarding distribution of the prize pool are not condoned or encouraged. The KofC will assume no responsibility for any such agreements.

31. Coloring-Up: During the 1st break, $25 chips will be “colored up” to $100 chips. Odd numbers of chips will be rounded to the next color (i.e. 5 - $25 chips will be awarded 2 - $100 chips, etc). During the 2nd break, $100 chips will be “colored up” to $500 chips in the same fashion. During the 3rd break, $500 chips will be “colored up” to $1000 chips in the same fashion.

32. Keep a safe distance away from the final table as to not interfere or distract the remaining players.

33. Cards read themselves based upon ranking of hands – Royal Flush, Straight Flush, 4 of a kind, etc.

34. You may play only 1 hand at a time.

35. The KofC Poker Tournament Chairperson retains the right to cancel any tournament, or alter it in a manner fair to all the players.

36. If there are any changes to the printed tournament rules they will be announced before the beginning of play. If changes are announced, a player may request a full refund of the buy-in and drop out of the tournament before the first hand is dealt.

37. The tournament will end when only one player is left with any chips, but no later than ½ hour prior to the allowable duration of the Millionaire Party (as shown on the posted gaming license). Ranking of remaining players will be determined by chips held by each player after the last hand started before the end of the tournament.

38. All disputes will be settled by the KofC Poker Tournament Chairperson. The Chairperson’s decision is final.
