About the SGMC

The Save  Geelong Manufacturing Committee comprises a unified group of grassroots Geelong workers, who are concerned by the deteriorating
manufacturing industry across Australia and locally.

Our aim is to secure improved assistance for the manufacturing sector in the Geelong region, including lobbying political parties for policy change to
support an ongoing future for Australian manufacturing.

The SGMC is supported by the AMWU, ETU, AWU and Geelong Trades Hall. We also have the support of many local working families and the broader
community, as any job losses has a flow on effect to other workers and businesses in Geelong.

Economics aside, the social impacts of current or any further job losses will be a disaster for our community.
