The The Dandy Warhols won't celebrate July 4th in typical U.S. fashion this year.  Instead, they'll kick off their European concert tour in Bilboa, Spain, at the BBK Music Festival. What is particularly special about this tour is that it will coincide with the release of the Dandy Warhols' sixth studio album, "Earth to the Dandy Warhols," and will be the first opportunity for audiences to hear a full playlist of new Dandy Warhols songs. This may dissapoint U.S. fans, who assuredly would like to be the first to hear the Dandys' new cuts, but they don't need to worry -- a lengthier U.S. tour is in the works.

This will mark the Dandy Warhols' eighth European tour since 1996, and the band predicts it will be one of their best. Although the two-week tour is relatively short, the band has ambitiously scheduled eight tour dates and has alluded to adding more. The entire European continent has always had a strong affinity for the Dandy Warhols -- their albums have gone Platinum (selling one million copies) in Greece, the UK, and Sweeden. They band has also recorded several Gold albums (selling 100,000 copies) in the Netherlands, Norway, Ireland and Denmark. This continent-wide affection for the group may be the reason why the band has played in almost every European country, from the Czech Republic to St. Petersburg, Russia, and why it chooses to so frequently do so.
