Rehiring (Rollover) Policy Proposal

Effective Fall 2007, all newly hired temporary full-time faculty will be given a one-year contract, renewable up to one additional year, pursuant to the terms of the Macguire Memorandum, but contingent on need, SRI evaluations, peer evaluations, and Chair recommendations. A search will be required after two consecutive years of employment are served. Faculty completing a second year will be eligible to apply for the position being searched.

Full-time temporary faculty currently under contract will have their total consecutive years of full-time employment counted against the two year limit. Full-time temporary faculty currently under contract are eligible to apply for positions being searched after their second consecutive year or more of full-time employment.

The total consecutive years of full-time temporary employment will be applicable to Article 11 (G) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
