Items I am using to help me lose weight (I feel I have to measure everything to keep myself honest and motivated!)
1) A pedometer (Mine keeps resetting itself - need a new one!) This is a great item to figure out what your day to day activity level is. I've read it's best to take at least 10,000 steps per day. Note, it's also good to get your heart rate up for at least 20-30 minutes per day, 5-7 days per week - Plus 3 days of weight lifting.
2) An elliptical (lifefitness x9)
3) Power 90, or now called P-90 (I think?)
4) Polar watch (for women)
5) I-Pod with arm band
6) Measuring Tape
7) Camera (before and after pics)
8) 'The Beck Diet Solution', by Judith Beck (control your sabotaging thoughts, the lies we all tell ourselves, "she's thin and eating this, so why shouldn't I")
9) 'YOU on a diet', by Dr. Oz
Looking forward to reading these two books, as recommended by many, but specifically by Sandrelle, her blog is listed under my favorite blogs. She's been amazingly successful and I plan to follow in her footsteps!
10) A scale (I also have a BMI scale - it's great for me becasue I don't lose so easily, but I do put on muscle easily, and this scale helps me to determine fat vs. muscle)
