Webster dictionary defines " Fundamental:as, Basic or essential major significance, most important" this is pretty self explanatory.
It also defines" Constitution:as, The fundamental laws that govern a nation; structure or composition; health or wellness"

I would first like to address fundamental, we are in need of this function as this is most important. Our ability to function depends on the fact that this is the most important action that we need to survive as a organization. It is essential to our ability to define and withstand the forces that would disrupt all that we hold dear. In the search for truth these elements are required to hold us to the standards that are expected by our members and the USPS, to deviate from this truth is to enter into a realm of distrust and misinformation.

Why you may ask is this of importance? because this is the foundation that we have built our Constitution upon. The fact of the importance, that we are not only true to ourselves but also to those that we are representing in the positions, with which we have been elected, and or determined to portray.

Do we have the right to ignore these important truths or do we think that we can at the cost of our members betray that trust? And most importantly the standards that we should hold ourselves to.

Constitution, a law one with which there is no doubt, no room for misinterpretation. These are the laws that govern our Association., one that can only be changed by those that have followed the guidelines set forth in that very same document.

So do we have the right to manipulate those laws into what we need at the time without the approval of those very same people that have endorsed us, to represent us all in the idea of good faith? we as individuals do not have that right, we cannot be so presumptuous that because we have been elected to positions of power, or to the voting delegate to change in our benefit , that which is written and approved by the members. Our powers are restricted and rightly so to that of abiding to what is and has been determined to be the truths.

We cannot be like those that change at their will, or manipulate in their favor that which we have believed to be truths. The time is here to stand up and say we cannot afford to not abide by that with which we hold so dear. So when questioned, do we ignore those that have doubts? Can we afford to be in disregard of those that want the truths of the documents we should be holding in the highest regard? Is this the example we want to set for those that follow, for our families to be witness of?

We all know that the USPS just recently determined to change the PO 603 in clear violation of an arbitrated settlement, and maybe Federal Law. Can we afford to allow ourselves to degrade ourselves to the level that the USPS has chosen? All by wanting to take the easy way out. to do what is easiest and in defiance of the very document that is supposed to hold us to those higher levels of standards that we have endorsed, and perceive to be the truths.

We are in a critical point in determining our character and the eyes of the Nation are upon us. The decisions, whether right or wrong, will determine the future of our administrations. We need be careful in the judgment of those that should have questioned the actions, for that brings in question our very own standards.
"Judge not lest you be judged". We have choices that we need to make and I pray we choose the right paths.
