A. President1. Direct the Association’s affairs, including the
Headquarters Office;
2. Preside at meetings of the Association and the
National Board, and enforce the laws thereof;
3. Temporarily fill vacancies on the National Board,
subject to the approval of the National Board;
4. At the close of each National Convention, appoint
special committees and fill vacancies occurring therein
during recess;
5. Make decisions on questions of governing law, subject
to approval of the National Board, and report
such for approval to the next National Convention;
6. Submit a written report of official acts to each
National Convention;
7. Prepare a summary report on the disposition of those
resolutions adopted at the previous convention;
8. Grant and issue charters in conjunction with the
Secretary-Treasurer;
9. Appoint Association members, retain legal counsel
and secure other services to fulfill the obligations of
the Association related to Labor-Management
Relations, with the approval of the National Board.
Members appointed to such duties shall receive subhire
as defined in this Constitution, reimbursement for
necessary expenses and a daily meal allowance;

10. Sign papers and documents requiring the
President’s signature;
11. Countersign checks issued in payment of
obligations of the Association as required.
