This is an instance showing the importance of going to a Dr. after an on the job injury...  This carrier opted for chiropractic care for her injuries and was denied workman's comp...  Always make sure you see a traditional Doctor or go to the hospital if injured..  You will need the documentation for OWCP and will have proof of injuries should problems arise later...

Rural Carrier route vehicle involved in an accident on a state highway in OH. The carrier was sideswiped by a 35 yr. old female who claimed that she was on the lookout for a deer and admitted complete fault after the accident.  Carrier had strobe light and and warning signs and substained $6000.00 in vehicle damages.

The following is a quote from the carrier involved

My claim was denied by workman's comp because I only went to the chiropractor for my injuries.  I did not go to a dr. or a hospital.  WC only covers just a "freckle" of chiropractic......and my problem did not fall under that freckle.  To this day, I still do not feel that I needed to go for traditional medical intervention.  But should I ever have another situation like this past one (heaven forbid!!), I will get my behind to a hospital so fast.

My neck was strained and my lower back was strained..........it just took time, chiropractic adjustment and massage therapy and I came out of it OK.  Why can't WC understand that??  Because they and the medical profession are in cahoots together, that's why.  I actually saved them money by not going to the hospital, and then I get denied.  Fortunately, I had ALL of my bills paid by the "at fault" driver's ins. company.

You can post this...........or any portion of it because hopefully another carrier will learn from my mistake.
