Pack 38 Adult Code of Conduct

  1. Always attempt to be on time and plan to participate in all posted activities. If everyone arrives on time, we can start on time, and then our meetings/activities can end on time. It is also required that you check in to every activity with the Activity Leader before doing anything else, for reasons of BSA insurance, Safe Scouting standards, and to ensure that everyone participating receives credit (in the form of segments and awards) for the activity.

  2. Pay attention to and follow instructions. This helps things go in a more orderly fashion and allows you to help out boys who don’t know what they need to be doing.

  3. A few things are expressly prohibited at scouting functions: Gambling in any form (for money or possessions), possession or detonation of any type of fireworks, as well as the use of alcohol or tobacco products. Any of these are cause for removal from the activity.

  4. Be familiar with the rules and set a good example accordingly for the boys. If the Cub Scout Sign is up, please act accordingly by stopping your conversation and putting the Sign up yourself. We can’t expect the boys to behave properly if we are not doing it already. Apply this concept to all situations.

  5. If you are unfamiliar with one of the rules or feel that it is unfair, seek out a leader and If at any time you have concerns share your concerns them with the Cubmaster or your Den Leader them quietly. Do not, under any circumstances, involve any of the boys in the issue. And if the Cubmaster or Den Leader is unable to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, please bring it to the attention of the Pack Committee so that it can be handled appropriately.

  6. Destruction of property (public, private or personal) is strictly prohibited.

  7. Respect others. No fighting, foul language, or disruptive behavior, as this is cause for removal from the activity. This includes not arguing with or countermanding the authority of other adults in front of the boys. If you have an issue with the way something is being done, please discuss it in private so as not to affect the general mood of the activity. Again, do not involve the boys in the issue.

  8. Sexual harassment and sexual behavior will not be tolerated and is also cause for removal from an activity.

  9. Show respect for your location and for others by keeping your personal area clean as well as offering to help clean group areas cheerfully. This also means following the Leave No Trace camping policies, which encourage us to protect and maintain the natural environment wherever we go.

This code of conduct is designed to maintain the safety and well-being of our children during various pack activities. Your signature at the bottom of this sheet indicates that you have read and understood everything contained here, and that you agree to “Do Your Best” to abide by these guidelines. Failure to adhere to them will be dealt with by the Cubmaster Pack Committee on a case-by-case basis.
