Slow response of system?

As VMukti works on same bandwidth (56 – 256 KBPS) you use for normal internet surfing, so sometimes you might get slow response in video conferencing if your present bandwidth is below a threshold value (56 KBPS), but even in that case you won't get slow response in other widgets.

Follow the following steps to install .NET Framework Setup:

Extract the VMukti zip file from downloaded setup files then run Setup.exe
If your system does not have Microsoft Framework 3.5, it will ask you to install WinFx (.NET Framework 3.5). Install .NET Framework 3.5. Installation of .NET Framework happens online from Microsoft site. Follow the following steps to Install ISS Setup:

For Windows Server 2003 Operating System

Install it from Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1) operating system’s CD.

To install IIS, navigate to Control panel > ADD or Remove Program then click on Add/Remove Windows Components.
Select Application server from Windows Components Wizard click on details and check for Internet Information Services (IIS).
Click Ok to start installation.

For Windows XP Operating System

Install it from Windows XP (Service Pack 2) operating system’s CD.

How to setup SQL Server as pre-requisite?

Follow the following steps to Install SQL Server Setup:

Download SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services SP1 version.

Run the downloaded SQLEXPR.EXE

During this installation, installer will ask you to install Windows Installer 3.1, for this download and install it from URL shown in a message box.
Select all compotes in Feature list Dialog.
During its installation, in Authentication Mode Dialog box select Mixed Mode Authentication and enter password in the specified fields.

After Successful Installation of SQL Server 2005, Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration

Select SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration then
Select Remote Connections under Database Engine then
Select Local and Remote Connections under this step select Using TCP/IP and named pipes Only then
Run Setup.exe.

Follow the following steps to make a Server:

Install the VMukti server setup with the help of VMukti server installation guide, which is kept inside the VMukti server setup folder
Then the user may act as a server as well as a client to this server.

In which scenario server user can use VMukti, after installation of VMukti version 1.0.3.6?

After installing VMukti 1.0.3.6 server, server user can use VMukti in one of the following scenarios:

Scenario-1:

Start the "VMukti Bootstrap" service (Start > Administrative Tools > Services > VMukti Bootstrap).
If server pc is on a live IP, then clients can access the VMukti of this server from anywhere across the globe. And if server pc belongs to a LAN, then clients can access the VMukti of this server from the same LAN only.
Do not browse VMukti URL on server PC.

While installing of VMukti client, I got the error like “Another version of this product is already installed”?

It might be possible a Vmukti client already installed in your system. You will have to remove existing version of this product using control panel---> add or remove programs to install new version of same.

While installing VMukti Server, I got the error like “Error 1001.Could not Connect with database server, follow the read me and install guide”?

It might be possible that you entered some wrong information while installing or configuring SQL server. Following points keep in mind while installing and configuring of SQL server.

Which download option you are selecting while you browse the link http://msdn2.microsoft.com/hi-in/express/bb410792(en-us).aspx to download SQL server. You have to download Install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services.

While configuring SQL server management studio, you might have entered wrong information in the field user name and password in the SQL server authentication. You will have to put correct information user name as “sa” and password.

While installing of SQL server, which authentication mode I have to select to authenticate the security used when connecting to SQL server?

While installing SQL Server, what information I will put in registration Information?

You have to enter in name field like “computer name” or whatever you want and company field (which is optional) like “your company name”. Generally name field takes your computer name by default.

After installing SQL server, how to configure SQL server?

After Successful Installation of SQL Server 2005, Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration

I am getting error like “Application download error” after browsing the VMukti URL?

Do browse again after deleting apps folder. You can delete apps from go to start--> Select Run--> type %temp% --> New window would open --> go up by one folder--> delete apps

Is it possible to run both old and new version of VMukti server?

No, you have to uninstall older one to install newer version.

What SQL server name I have to provide in SQL Server installation?

You have to provide server name like “<IP of your machine>\SQLExpress” while SQL server installation.

How to configure SQL Server Management Studio Express?

After Successful Installation of SQL Server 2005, Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > SQL Server Management Studio Express

Do I need to install the newer version of VMukti client if server is running on upgraded version on VMukti server?

No, you need not to install the new version of VMukti client. Since older version of VMukti client is compatible with new version of VMukti server.

I want to migrate from one to another version?

Follow the following steps to migrate from older to newer version:

First of all uninstall the older version of VMukti server setup

Go to control panel>add or remove programs
Select VMukti collaborative
Click on uninstall

Install newer version of VMukti server setup (To see installation procedure, you can refer VMukti installation Guide or setup FAQs.)
While installing, configure SQL server authentication.
There is no need to uninstall the VMukti Client from client PC. Since the older version of VMukti Client supports the newer version of VMukti server.
Then you can browse the server URL on other PC.

Can I browse two url on same pc of different-different VMukti server?

No, this facility is not available at present.

If one VMukti bootstrap is running on a pc, can I browse the url of another bootstrap on same pc?

No.

If a bootstrap is running on a pc, even you cannot browse the url of your bootstrap. First close the bootstrap service from that pc, if you want to browse a URL of any bootstrap.

When i am installing VMukti on my system i am getting error 1001 specified service already exists ?

To solve this issue follow following steps:

1. Goto Start --> Run --> cmd
2. Type cd "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727"
3. Press Enter
4. Type InstallUtil.exe -u "C:\prgramFiles\VMukti\V1.0\vmukti.presentation.xbap"
5. Press Enter
6.Your service would uninstall and u can now install VMukti, this error wont appear again while installation.

What authentication select while installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in local Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 machine?

User has to select SQL Authentication mode. In which user has to login with user name “sa”(default) and password. In both cases the SQL instance name would be same.

Which ports need to be kept open on VMukti Server and which ports to be kept open on VMukti client?

For VMukti server, off the Windows Firewall and keep ports 4000, 5060, 1433, 1434 open.

And for VMukti client keep Windows Firewall off. No need to open any special ports.

What we have to do if I want to uninstall VMukti application?

You must follow the sequential un- installation procedure:

Open the control paneladd or remove programs
First of all uninstall the VMukti server/client. You can’t remove .net framework or SQL server before the un-installation of VMukti server or client.
Then remove SQL server.
Then remove .net framework.

What will be happen if I uninstall .net framework before the VMukti server or client un-installation?

You will get the error while the uninstalling of VMukti server or client. You have to install first .NET framework, then u can uninstall VMukti server or client and again uninstall .net framework.

During the uninstalling of VMukti client I get the error like “Error 1001.installUtilLib.dll: Unknown error”?

It might be possible you uninstalled .net framework before the un-installation of VMukti client. You cannot uninstall .net framework before the un-installation of VMukti client. Follow the following steps to remove VMukti client:

Install .net framework again.
Un-install VMukti client and VMukti server.
Un-install .net again.

After login it gives the error like “Can not connect to bootstrap” why?

Typical reasons for this error are:

The server (bootstrap) machine is down, not accessible; VMukti Service is not up on server machine etc…
Please follow the pattern of URL like “http ://< Server IP>/VMukti” on the browser (It should not be like “http://localhost/vmukti”).
Are you able to connect to SQL server using user name sa and any password,
It might be possible, the system on which server is installed hasn’t sufficient configuration for bootstrap.

Please keep in mind while you are browsing the server url of VMukti:

Which Version of VMukti are you using?
Which operating system are you using?
Are you able to connect to SQL server using user name sa and password,
Which URL are you browsing to use VMukti?

I am getting error like “cannot connect to server” while browsing the VMukti server?

It might be possible service of VMukti bootstrap is not started. There are two ways to start VMukti server on server machine:

Either browse the VMukti server url on server PC also
Or start bootstrap service on the PC where VMukti server is installed.

Follow the following steps to start VMukti Bootstrap service:

Go to Start > Administrative Tools > Services
Select VMukti Bootstrap
Click on restart the service

During the registration, sometimes it gives the error like “Username in use”?

It may be due to same username is already registered before.

How do I start Vmukti application?

Follow the following steps to start the application:

First of all open a browser
Type the http://<server IP>/VMukti on the address bar and press enter
Now you can register or sign in directly in left pane of application
You will found default page on your screen.

How do I to-collaborate in the Vmukti community?

Follow the following steps to collaborate:

First add online buddies into "My Buddies" section. For doing this write a correct id of your friend into the specified field under "My Buddies" section and then click to "Add New Buddies", by this way you can add as many buddies as you want to communicate collaboratively.
Drag a module you want to collaborate using that into a tab.
Add a buddy for this, drag a buddy from My Buddies list on the selected module's top header bar
You will asked for save the page, Save it
You can add as many buddies as you have to communicate collaboratively.
Now you are ready to communicate collaboratively with your added buddies. Where you can get other's data unicast/multicast/broadcast your data.

How to-develop and extensions to VMukti system?

Follow the following steps to develop your own widget:

Make your own 3-Tier WPF User Control Application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Make three folder named "Control", "Bal" and "Dal"
Put Presentation layer's compiled dll file like App1_Presentation.dll into "Control" named folder. That dll file can be found from bin>Debug of the concerned layer project
Create and put "Configuration.xml" into "Control" folder along with presentation layer's dll file. The "Configuration.xml" file should contain correct information like- (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Modules Name="Presentation"> <Dummy Client class="DummyClient" method="PresentationClient"> </DummyClient> </Modules>)
Put Business layer's compiled dll file like App1_Business.dll into "Bal" named folder. That dll file can be found from bin>Debug of the concerned layer project
Put Control layer's compiled dll file like App1_Control.dll into "Bal" named folder along with business layer's dll file. That dll file can be found from bin>Debug of the concerned layer project
Put Data Access layer's compiled dll file like App1_DataAcess.dll into "Dal" named folder. That dll file can be found from bin>Debug of the concerned layer project
Put all three "Control", "Bal" and "Dal" folders into a folder and give a name like Mod1 to it (this name will identify to your developed extension) and it will appear in the "Modules" section from left pane of the home page of VMukti after successful addition of it into the VMukti system.
Compress the "Mod1" folder into "Mod1.zip". Now the "Mod1.zip" is ready for add in the VMukti system.
Now browse the VMukti with provided URL, click Settings on top right, then click "Submit New widget" then click on "Browse", locate your "Mod1.zip" file. Provide correct information in the fields. Click "Save" then click "Done".
You will see your own module/extension in the left pane under modules section. Now you can enjoy with your own extension.

Can I withdraw from an on-line public learning session that I registered for?

You can withdraw from an on-line public learning session that requires VMukti Learning Credits up to two business dates prior to the session start date and retain your VMukti Learning Credits.

To withdraw from an on-line public session that requires VMukti Learning Credits, please submit a case via the Support Portal or inform to learning department of VMukti solutions through info@vmukti.com .

Important: If you withdraw from an on-line public learning session less than two business days prior to the class start date we are unable to refund VMukti Learning Credits.
