The Hirer should send the completed form to the Secretary at the above address. You will receive the confirmation within a week.

Safety/Housekeeping

It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure safety and housekeeping procedures are strictly followed. Please ask the Secretary to brief you on the Safety requirements.

Car park arrangement

GHU has very limited facility to park cars outside the Centre. The Hirer shall ensure that the parking of car is managed to prevent inconvenience to the neighbours and any congestion on Spencer Road. The Hirer shall encourage car sharing and pooling to the function. The car parking facility is available at Goffs Park car park. Please note that this car park shuts at 21.00. The Hirer shall have a marshal throughout the function to manage the road traffic situation.

Shoes and housekeeping

Shoes are not permitted in the Mandir. The Hirer shall ensure the shoes are neatly placed in the rack and housekeeping during the function is kept in good order

Payment

GHU encourages the use and hire of the Mandir and its facilities to all the members and associated groups and societies. A question frequently asked is “How much is the rent?” It costs £80 a day to run the Centre taking into account the heating, wear and tear, water and other such costs. This works out at approx £10.00 per hour. GHU does not normally impose a rent. However, GHU expects the Hirer to make a payment or donation to cover the basic costs. You will appreciate that otherwise these costs would have to be subsidised by the Community.

Equipment

The Hirer shall agree in advance with GHU which equipment is required for the function. The equipment hired shall be returned in good order

Catering

Only vegetarian food is permitted. Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed at the Mandir. Cooking facility is not available at the Mandir. You may warm the food with permission.

Food

If you need any help then inform GHU. Food should be consumed in the Dining Hall only. It is not permitted to consume food in the Mandir or upstairs Hall.
