Formerly a leading member of Porter Novelli’s digital practice, I bring specific expertise in blogging and social media. This is an area that I have focused on extensively over the last five years, guiding award-winning campaigns for clients large and small, including the pioneering #2 selection in Marketing Sherpa’s 2007 Viral Video Hall of Fame. My clients have also been cited repeatedly as examples of successful companies that “get it”.
I blog at http://joshdilworth.com and co-host the on-hiatus Falken’s Maze podcast series with Carla Thompon (Guidewire Group) and Mark Johnson (Powerset/MSFT). I also contribute to the Austin Sound music reviews site.
I have been named to Robert Scoble’s “Top Tech Blogger/FriendFeed/Social Media List,” was included in Mashable’s recent compendium of top Austin bloggers, have been repeatedly called out by the staff of ReadWriteWeb as “one of our favorite PR people" and am very grateful for compliments from some of the people in this industry that I respect most.
I have been quoted by the Associated Press, Mashable, ReadWriteWeb, Redmonk, Podtech, and The Guidewire, among others. I have spoken at leading universities, technology conferences and many events, including, most recently, the Semantic Technology Conference and the Singularity Summit.
I am currently an advisor to Buzzstream, MakeMeSustainable, Startup District, and the SXSWi Accelerator.
I graduated from Haverford College with a degree in English and Philosophy. I spend my free time obsessing about Hunter S. Thompson -- and the almighty breakfast taco. I am also married to the most excellent Liz Jones-Dilworth .
