...Not everyone here knows what "loft" is. Maybe somebody doesn't know about "spoilers" (information disclosed too soon; it spoils the experience of watching a movie and ruins the intrigue). I think spoilers are not relevant in Finding t.A.T.u. case. The photos in the web reveal ...10% of the movie, maybe. In Moscow and Yaroslavl the filming of Finding t.A.T.u., Russian-American production movie, started, with Roland Joffe as a director. It is confirmed that besides Julia Volkova and Lena Katina, Anton Yeltsin and Mischa Barton are casted. "There's no connection with LDPR party here: I'd been into cinema before I got into politics", said Alexey Mitrofanov, whose book "t.A.T.u. Come Back" became a basis of the script, "Actually, this movie is not exactly about t.A.T.u. Young heroines get to know each other through the band's music, but this story, despite its significance, is more of a background here. This is a movie about freedom, about the first free generation in our country".

With a tour through Kazakhstan the scandalous group "Tatu" arrived. The idols of the teenagers remained in each town no longer than for one day. In the rider of the stars there were no special instructions, because the girls are not fastidious about eating, drinking but they are devoid of caprice typical for stars. Y: When we are in our private life we are on our own. It didn't happen to me.

L: Yes, I have a Chow-chow and two half-breeds. Those who live with me we have chosen on the street. And one half-breed else came to live with us, but we couldn't expel her. Recently one gave birth to puppies and I gave them away to fans.

Y: And why we have to do? It's not interesting every year.Plus, when we kissed we were about 15 years, it was school-time, lack of understanding of our orientation, but now, when we have children and family and everything else, why? It's no more interesting when the girls are grown up or then with 40 years. Should we now kiss eachother for a whole life? Like old lesbians (laughs).
L (laughs): With 60 years we come out on stage, having become plump and will kiss, pensioners. And by the way, very recently we kissed eachother, when we celebrated something.

Q: You prepare again to make a reality-show?
Y: We plan to do something already in autumn this year, but the topic I don't know. Just now we are thinking about it. At the moment we shoot a film upon a book of Lesha Mitrofanov "Tatu - Comeback". Now there are current shootings, and we have enough to do. It will be released in 2008 in May.
Q: How is your attitude towards sports, do you take part in the support of the Olympics in Sochi?
Y: We have a good relation towards sports, but we don't participate (at the campaign).
Q: With whom from the famous artists do you have a good communication?
Q: Competition?
L: In general we don't feel competition with anybody. We are beyond competition.
Q: Plans?
Q: Do you plan to relax in Kazakhstan in national style?
Y: How do they here relax in national style?
Q: On horse.
Q: You have not tried the national cuisine?
Y: And what's national at yours? Tell us.
Q: Sad incidents connected with fans?
Y: Exactly such, to kill, such ones didn't happen. They pulled our hairs, tore the chains, such things happened. Then again - these are not bad incidents, just demonstrations of love. Someone cries, someone stands trembling and someone may touch us.
L: We have very fine relations to the fans, they come to our homes, we talk with eachother. Basically no such particular problems arise.
Q: Are you scared of such hysterical fans?
Y: No.
Q: In Moscow are you always with the body-guards?
Q: You participated at the gay-parade?
Q: But is it possible, to take this parade under your wings?
Y: Well, we told already, that - if the people wants to reach something common and be one as a whole, and there will be such occurrences, then we will not be one whole, there will be war all the time, for instance between gays and rappers.

Guys, hello-o-o-o!!!
I was really bad, couldn�t get back to YOU for such a long time with life news :-) Everything�s very cool� We�re playing shows in Kazakhstan now, a lot of flying � you know the kind of plane we had to fly? AN-24 � it is kind of an air balloon on wheels! Jolts, rattle � damn! The only thing that makes it easier- thoughts about the audience. We haven�t expected that so many people love us there! Big venues, people � and everybody�s so kind, energetic, shouting and dancing till they can� All�s positive!
Yesterday was our second day of shooting for the movie, at ZIL plant. We�ve been waiting for our turn for six hours� It�s such a rush we�re in �going from one place to another� The movie�s coming alone so f**king awesome, beautiful, fun, and the team is very professional.
As for my life� I�m the happiest, there�s a human being inside of me, who already gives me signs� Sometimes it�s strange to realize that soon I will give birth to my second child�
Well, enough of telling secrets� Don�t get blue, have some fun in what�s left of summer!

Yulia Volkova cleared up the rumors on this possible split of the group t.A.T.u. In the press conference made in Kazakhstan by the Planet of Music Festival, Yulia and Lena clarified all the rumors that surrounded to the group, “T.A.T.U does not have plans to separate. Yulia although mentioned she does plan to sing solo but keep her carrer with t.A.T.u.
We already play in a movie Finding Tatu. We play ourselves. The script is based on a book by Alexey Mitrofanov and Anastasiya Moiseeva Tatu Come Back.Tatu has no plans to break up. Yulia might start singing solo along with her Tatu career.There’s no place left in the world, where we would like to go.We are not spoiled. A shower and food are main things for us. We eat anything but prefer water and tea for drinking.While in Moscow, we move without bodyguards. Everyone there is used to see stars walking the streets.We don’t have any ideal model for men.Our audience can be different: everything from small children to grandmothers.We regret nothing in our lives.We have been driving cars for 2 years now but we don’t drive that often.We plan to release the third album with a working title “Waste Management”. New songs and a soundtrack will be written for the movie.

I’ve got 5 tattoos all over my body: on my leg, on my back and a new one – on my shoulder. It’s a Japanese tattoo shaped as a dragon – a symbol of eternal life. While I’m pregnant I try not to run and not to jump on stage. I try to be calmer. My energy is in my eyes. We have never been bugged over the phone. I’ve had totally two numbers in my life and never had any problems. I’ve got some throat problems but this husky tone has already become a sort of special thing.

We are long time friends with Yulia. We are enough close. We run diaries for our fans and we promise to write a book. I’ve already handed out all puppies I had – they were mostly take

The Door
...They're shooting Finding t.A.T.u. episodes at the abandoned brewery plant named after Badaev...
... It is a huge territory with an empty square of half Red Square size covered with broken asphalt. Around this square there are gloomy desolate buildings of various sizes and styles that were built in different times within a spread of one hundred years. The glass in many windows is broken out or fallen out because of age, the stucco is gone, the remaining paint faded away. Several chafed tank-cars with what is left of "Badaev's Beer" signs grew into the ground and turned into the weed reserve; their line reminds naïve people that there's no beer here and it's not expected that there will ever be...

t for Ivan's apartment was built. The roof, where his apartment leads, is one big terrace with scarlet tents, soft couches and Moscow view. This is a loft of old rocker and m'fucker, the leader of Moscow punks and unrecognized artists. Mystic meetings, secret orgies and ordinary booze parties (depending on the participants) take place here. Some restless personalities spend days and even weeks at Ivan's place sleeping on the floor and eating feast's leftovers...
...But this house I know very well. It's in excellent condition. Man, this is almost my own house, but it looks different, resembling a mini-copy of Overlook Hotel in "The Shining" movie. There's a joyful bustle inside: many people and everybody's getting ready to a big celebration. Waiters, cookees, some women, unfamiliar and fat, running, carrying plates, pots, cutting vegetables, pouring something in the glasses... In the evening there will be guests, lots of guests.
I can't say I don't like it, but I'm sick of this hustle and bustle.
Tender July day outside. Nice warm silence is diluted with birds' twitter and the sound of flying dragonflies.
I don't give a shit about all these preparations, I'm walking around the house and looking at it's familiar parts: here's the door to the bedroom section, and this door leads to the kitchen right from the street, and here is garage gate... My three-year-old daughter staggers beside me, holding my hand... She's busy with her own thoughts and doesn't bug me with her usual never-ceasing chat.
We wandered in a remote part of the area - and I freezed.
It's strange that I, who've lived in the house for more than ten years, don't recognize this part and can't remember that I ever entered this door. Moreover, I can't even imagine where this door leads. Kinda scary... oh, what the hell.
I lift the girl up on shoulder, holding her with one hand, and go seven steps down, like it's a basement entrance.
The time-worn door, with rusty tin on the surface; it's style doesn't resemble that of the whole house. There are no signs of handles or locks on the door, and along the perimeter of the door there's a cotton seal upholstered with leather-imitation cloth. If the door isn't stuck due to no exploitation, then I easily open it. Having put my palm on the place where doors have handles, I started to push with the increasing pressure. The door didn't surrender, but I got more frightened, the heart went faster. I pushed more and suddenly - p-f-f-f-f-f-f. The door opened, letting the air into my face - warm and a bit humid air with a slightly sweet basement smell.
Danger anticipation yielded to my curiosity. I leaned a little so that the girl, who silently sat on my shoulders, didn't hit the door pillar, and made one, just one step from the sunny day into the darkness...

Last night in the previous post I answered WMVOVA's heartfelt cry - and Buka asked to translate it. Let it be a separate post.
WMVOVA:Where's the exact information about the album (release date, track list, authors, style)? Stop lying! Stop buying time! Soon, soon...Soon WHEN? Where are the songs? I'm sick of waiting! I'm tired of listening the same songs for the 6 y
ears! When is the album coming out? In 2010? I swear if I don't see the video by the new year and won't hear the song, I'll put down all the posters - fuck it. t.A.T.u. are super, but I can't be a fan of a dead band. Why is Bilan releasing a song so often? Why are we waiting for 4 years and then get 20 songs at once? Can it be a more regular process? There's been not a single day when I didn't listen to their songs... and still WHEN? WHEN? WHEN?

Hey, WMVOVA. Good that you decided to write. You are speaking for a certain group of people that love t.A.T.u., but who, I think, slightly disoriented. I'm glad we have such a passionate and gushy blogger (no irony). When I read such reproaches, I get very angry. The team that writes news for the official site, gives the most correct information possible. Yes, plans sometimes change and dates are moved, but the site informs you about it as well. It's amazing that there are people that accuse official site of lying, and it's no less amazing that other people thoughtlessly join this yell. No detailed info you requested will appear before the release. t.A.T.u. is not an accountant department and will preserve the secrecy of creative process. I'm already saying too much in this blog - don't expect more. Why do songs get released not so often? Because to make a t.A.T.u. song that you would like to listen every day, time and silence are needed... I don't know if you'd thought through the sequence you wrote or it was a spontaneous one, but it turned out to be a very cool vivid sequence, very "tatuish"... Would you want it replaced by White Stork, I Met You, On the Wings of Love, Flowers in the Sky?...

How we all doing?
Just a quick blog from the road. Sitting here in our hotel room in Moscow after returning from Kazakhstan where we played 3 concerts. One in Astana, Almaty & Zhezkazgan. Really interesting trip guys. Played 2 stadium gigs and then we played a show in this city called Zhezkazgan which is in the middle of Kazakhstan.

I heard a number of 150,000 people turning up for the show.
Not sure if that is close, but I couldn't see where the crowd ended. All I could see was people lining the streets everywhere that went on forever. It was fantastic!

What I think about WM... (I'm sharing with you innermost information, because the latter is t.A.T.u.'s inside processes that are not usually revealed; well, fuck industry rules).
I like this title for several reasons:
- one, it's simply beautiful (I remembers one old joke about New Russians)
For English speaking people Waste Management is a set expression that they can easily remember on linguistic level. For Russian speaking people the translation of the title - Upravleniye Otbrosami - is not a usual one, it evokes a slight culture shock (really, who the fuck cares to manage garbage? People usually manage useful things, and waste is waste...)
By the way, paradoxically, the absence of such a word combination in Russian language explains through the chain of subconscious connections a habit of many our citizens to throw rotten sausage right out of their windows or to throw packs of cigarettes or McDonald's leftovers from their car windows.
But back to the point. So, Russian title - Upravleniye Otbrosami - has an almost ideal balance of "a", "o", "r" and "l" sounds, which makes this title easy to say and to hear, and the shoking meaning of UO (in Russian UO could also be deciphered as "retarted") makes the title very catchy.
- two, W and M - is the same letter, only written upside down, which gives us a great opportunity to create album's logo
- three, WM is a very simple metaphor - managing the figurative waste of our life, all the waste that trashes our life (I think the link to "orbital waste" from Russian lyrics of "Kosmos" is clear).
Isn't it, in the end, t.A.T.u.'s main mission?!
And if somebody decides that Waste Management is a t.A.T.u.'s metaphorical claim to manage this "somebody", then he or she will be right: It's right about those fellows...
Let me address those who rebel against this stupid, ugly and pathetic title and who want love and roses "till death do us part" along with a sweet kiss on sunset background in album's title and lyrics - YOU WISH.
And not because love and a sweet kiss are bad. No, it's all beautiful. And t.A.T.u. are also about love and only about love. But t.A.T.u. have always said it their way and will continue doing so.
Still, this will send you shivers up and down.

Lena Katina can't forgive Yulia her second pregnancy
Group Tatu suffers another split. Lena Katina is jealous about Yulia and Parviz and firmly refuses to socialize with them.
At least Lena demonstratively ignores Yulia off stage.
- I'm not a .... (Lena uses a c-word here) as this one. I don't get pregnant every second year, that's the way Lena commented on her colleague at their latest gig.

Such disappointment from Lena has explanations. Three years ago, when Yulia announced her pregnancy (young lady was pregnant from her boyfriend Pasha), the group's artistic activity became nearly non-existent. That time Tatu was on the top of their career and naturally Katina didn't like all that. However, Katina found strength to understand Yulia's feelings and actions.
