Copyright Acknowledgement and Assignment
The Publications Committee of the Wisconsin Union Directorate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison (“University”), under the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System (“Board”), has undertaken the creation of “Illumination: the Undergraduate Journal of Humanities”, a student-run, academic journal (“Work”). As a staff member of the Journal, I sign this form to clarify and confirm the intellectual property rights to materials associated with the Journal.
I acknowledge that my contributions to the Work have been part of the specific duties and responsibilities of my staff member position with Journal at the University.
Copyright or other intellectual property rights in the Work or other materials resulting from the performance of my duties and responsibilities as a staff member regarding the Work shall vest and be held in the name of the Board.
To the extent there is any question about the rights to the Work under applicable law, I assign and transfer to the Board my rights, title and interest, to the extent they exist or are determined to exist, in the Work or any of the resulting materials, in any registrations and copyright applications relating thereto, in and to all derivative works, and in and to all income royalties, damages, claims and payments now or hereafter.
The University will acknowledge my contribution to any copyrighted Work that results in whole or in part from the performance of my duties and responsibilities as a staff member.
The University grants me the non-exclusive license, at no cost and in perpetuity, to use and copy the Work or other resulting materials for research and educational purposes and to incorporate components of the Work in scholarly publications or academic presentations, but to not otherwise sell or distribute the Work or other resulting materials.
