Capture

5 Minutes of DV footage = 1GB (1024MB) of HD space
Final Cut Express > System Settings

2. Check VTR OK -

3. Name your Reel and footage -

4. Capture > Now

    Handles = 10 Seconds


Capture > Clip is a more efficient way to capture.  By logging clips, you can "re-capture" the project quickly and easily after you have deleted the media files. 

5. ESC to stop capturing. 

HDV Footage? Choose Final Cut Express > Easy Setup and Choose HDV from the presets.
AVCHD? File > Log and Transfer

Trim your Video in the Viewer

Shortcuts  = I - In ; O - Out

      The Patch Panel

      Dragging and Dropping to the timeline is less acurate.  Watch where you drop it.  Insert or Overwrite?
