Blogging Journal Assignment Rubric


Each student will be assessed on the following aspects of their original blog postings and on their blog response postings. Each Blog post and its responses are worth 10 points each. A checkmark indicates that full credit has been awarded. If full credit is not awarded, a letter will be included to explain why the score was lowered. Students should be told, why they didn’t receive full credit.

  3. Length (200-500 words)

  4. Referenced specific ideas from class and/or text

  5. Reflective on Metcalf experience (use NO teacher or student names!)

  6. Applies ideas to personal teaching philosophy & future students

  7. Proper spelling & grammar

  8. Honest & reflective

  9. Personal

  10. On time


  1. Refer to specific aspect of original post

  2. Does more than just agree or disagree

  3. Referenced specific ideas from class and/or text

  4. Takes original posting a step further

  5. Applies ideas to personal teaching philosophy & future students
