WELCOME!
This syllabus will serve as your online link to all of our units, assessments, assignments, projects and class updates.  The majority of work for this class will be accessed through this page.  All assessments and writing assignments will be submitted to me via e-mail.  Please be sure to read and carefully follow all directions regarding submitting work and questions to me.  We will be using Gmail nearly everyday.  This should allow us all to stay in close contact with work and other important information or questions. 
 

Goals:  The goal for our class is to build a strong foundation in biology and to be prepared to pass the OGT and to be able to move onto a college level science class.

Grading:  Grading will be based on assessments following each lesson.  Most assessments will be no more than 20pts.  These assessments must be passed with an 80%.  In the event you do not achieve an 80% an alternative lesson plan will be followed.  Those students achieving an 80% will follow an enrichment lesson plan that will include creating a project and independent studies.  All grades will be posted online.
 
Gmail Accounts:  We all know you use the internet on a regular basis so why not take advantage of a very useful tool.  We will keep safety on the internet as a top priority.  NO CHATROOMS!  Keep your personal information personal! We will create an email account for each of you.  I will also keep your passwords (protected of course and never used without permission from you... unless its an emergency)  From your Gmail account you can create, send and share documents with me, your classmates, friends and family.  Most importantly you will be able to create and send your assessments, papers and other assessments directly to me.
