Overview

Out in Front will launch a pilot training program in late February, 2009 for 12-15 participants. Over five months, students will gain the essential skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to serve on non-profit boards and in staff positions at community nonprofits, represent LGBT community needs at local businesses, corporations and government agencies, or lead the community in other roles.

Selection Criteria


Participant Expectations

Participants will attend an orientation (2/19), three all-day Saturday seminars (2/28, 5/30, 6/20), one Friday seminar (3/27), one weekend retreat (4/25-26), and a final graduation dinner (6/25). In addition, participants will meet up to two to three hours per month for various community assignments and mentor meetings. This may include shadowing the mentor during an important meeting or presentation accompanied with debrief.


Participants selected for the pilot program are expected to attend each session, from opening to close, without exception. Homework assignments are also likely between sessions. Please let us know of any anticipated challenges with these expectations. Certificates of Completion for the Out In Front course of study will be awarded to only those participants who attend all events and complete all work.


Tuition

Tuition for the 2009 Pilot Program is $200. Please contact us if you need financial assistance.
