Here again

You  have in your hands (or in the screen of your pc) the second number of our  bulletin. As you have seen at the beginning, it has a name: Redesjota. The letters (SJ) comes from Jesus Company (Societatis Jesu, in Latin). And net  because we want to keep in touch with the ones who have ever participated in any pastoral experiences organized by Jesuits.

We all have in our memories any Easter, living together, where we lived somehting unforgettable, we met people who are  our friends now, we discovered that we are happier by helping others and that God  influences our lives.

We hope that Redesjota will help us keeping that fire alive. Again, we remind you that you can  collaborate with Redesjota diffusing it or sending contents to our new email address redesjota@probesi.org. We have also created a blog redesejota.wordpress.com and a forum redesejota.foroactivo.com, where you can leave  your comments and your participation, as a place for virtual meeting among all those forming this net.

As we already told you in the first esejotalink, we want to say to you some things that we really like of Pedro Arrupe. And today we want to comment to you those features that made him being so attractive.

Those who knew him say that he was a great friend. He was a clean, direct person. His main weapon was his ability to listen, the listening of someone who needs to learn something from the other one and does not hide it. That listening which deals to speak truly and thoroughly about the topics. He was a friend whom you can share many things with, but also the one you could not agree without breaking his confidence on you.

“I like being with people" … it is what he answers to a RAI journalist who asked him for his hobby. People, every person, were his goal in life.

Those who knew and treated him say that, when someone was with Arrupe, he or she felt like if Arrupe had all the time for attending them, and that they were “everything” for Arrupe, having the feeling of being the only one in the world.

His interest was people, his goal was people, his resources were the ones from himself.

To pray:

What about if I want to have a bit of prayer? I am sure that I have some papers of the last Pascua which could serve me, or I remember a phrase or a question which still inside of me and it makes me think yet. In the day to day also we need some time to meet with God, and so remember that He is in our life. One possibility would be:

I look for a time and a quite place. Maybe there is something which helps me to concentrate (a Javier´s Christ picture, a cross that somebody gave to me, a candle…). I left calm, doing silence (from inside to outside).

I try to fell the God´s presence, his closeness in my life. Also it can help: repeat a phrase, a sing (nothing will separate us from God´s love, I don´t want to get away from You, Lord Mine and God mine…).

I read a text which inspires me. Dining every sentence, every word. I left to resonate it in me. It might be:

     Tú llegas a nuestro mundo
y nos invitas a abrir la puerta
de nuestro corazón
a todos los hombres.
     Tú ya nos dijiste
que eres Tú quien viene
cuando alguien llama
a nuestra puerta.

Sometime I can talk with Jesus as a friend. Tell him what I am living, trying to fell what he tell me. Finally I tell bye to him.

Is it that easy? Yes, the important is that we really want to share some time with him every day, because He is always waiting for us.
