Champaign County Bikes Organization (ChampaignCountyBikes.org): "CCB is a group of citizens working together to make Champaign County  the most bicyclist friendly county in the Midwest" (from website). (The resources listed below can also be found on the CCB website.)

Prairie Cycling Club (www.prairiecycleclub.org): PCC organizes weekly and special event rides for bicyclists of all abilities.

The Bike Project Co-op (thebikeproject.org): "The Bike Project co-op offers a space, tools, and community to repair bikes, share knowledge, hold classes, and advocate for bikes in Urbana-Champaign" (from website).  Recycled bikes can be purchased at low cost from the Coop.

League of Illinois Bicyclists (bikelib.org): LIB's objectives include (a) maintaining and increasing access to public facilities to enhance the use of bicycles for transportation and recreation, (b) educating bicyclists and motorists about their mutual rights and responsibilities, and (c) educating cyclists on safe cycling practices (adapted from website).

Illini Cycling (www.illinicycling.com): The University of Illinois' bicycle racing team is made up of UIUC undergraduate and graduate students who compete in mountain (fall) and road (spring) racing.

C-U Racing (www.cusuperclub.net): Road bicycle racing for the rest of us.

University of Illinois' Division of Campus Recreation Outdoor Center (www.campusrec.uiuc.edu/outdoor/rates.html) Provides mountain bike and tandem rentals to anyone in the community. Open Mondays through Fridays, 4 to 6 pm, at 51 E. Gregory, Champaign; Tel. 333-8474.
