Bajuana Tea - For over ten years Austin and Matrisha Armitage have been creating and performing what they describe as a “soulful, smoky blend of organic rock inspired by blues, 60’s classics and funky jam bands.”
With enough raw material to create two new albums, Bajuana Tea’s music ranges from acoustic to electric, from blues to funk. Their original style and unique sounds are sure to please any music pallet.
Bad Mitten – In addition to being phenomenal vocalists, the six members of Bad Mitten have expertise in a variety of quirky instruments such as the banjo, the ukulele and the kazoo.
With an array of influences that include the Ditty Pops, Janis Joplin and Helen Kane, the acoustic folk sounds of this all-girl band are completely original and all-around entertaining. Their performances are both energetic and captivating, making them a sure hit.
Hollis Ann Thompson – Lead singer and co-creator of SunHoney, Hollis Ann Thompson is known for her traditional sounding folk mixed in with a dash of country and soul.
With acoustic guitar in hand, Thompson has been winning the hearts and souls of fans with SpunHoney since the summer of 2000 when the band was created to showcase her outstanding vocal abilities.
Now in its second year, the Grrrlz Rock! Concert Series runs every weekend through the month of November in Eugene, Ore. Grrrlz Rock!, created by local music promoter Cindy Ingram, is a showcase of 50 women-focused acts celebrating the contribution of women to the local music scene. Grrrlz Rock! is reported to be the largest women-focused concert series in the nation.
