Gina Edge to appear at the Buzz on the University of Oregon campus

Gina Edge, the 25-year-old emerging singer-songwriter, is set to take the stage Saturday, March 15th at the Erb Memorial Union’s Buzz Coffee Shop on the University of Oregon campus.

At 8 p.m. she will present her own truly innovative style of folk-rock, using her music to explore philosophy, gender roles and ideological constructs.

This free show will be one of many to be expected this spring as Edge presents her music throughout the Willamette Valley.

Picking up the guitar at the age of 15, Edge quickly discovered her niche and her passion.

“I’ve always been into poetry and I come from a very musical family,” explained Edge, “so singing and songwriting became a great creative outlet for me.”

Since then she has created two studio-produced CDs, “Saturday” and “Hieroglyphics,” performed at the Willamette Folk Festival as a song-writing contest winner, and had the unique opportunity to write and record a song for the children’s book “My Star” by Theresa Gooch.

Gina Edge is quickly forging a name for herself in the music world with her folk based sound and mosaic of lyrical topics.
