STONE RANCH FOUNDATION HELPS SAVE MUSIC AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT STONE RANCH ELEMENTARY
Foundation donates funds to strengthen education at local school
4S RANCH (SAN DIEGO), JULY 23, 2008 – Stone Ranch Elementary school will begin the upcoming school year with music and physical education programs thanks in part to funds raised by the Stone Ranch Foundation (SRF). A grant of several thousand dollars was approved at a recent meeting of the organization’s board of directors.
“The purpose of this foundation is to help provide the children of Stone Ranch with a top-notch education,” said SRF president Bijan Arbab. “At-risk programs like music and physical education need to be saved in order to fulfill that goal.”
“I’m thrilled to have this type of support and partnership,” offered school Principal Cindy Venolia. “Funding these programs is so critical to providing the kind of well-rounded education our kids need and deserve.”
The Stone Ranch Foundation was established in 2005. The group includes parents, administrators and teachers. It raises money through donations from families and corporations and also conducts fund-raising events like Family Night Out, Trailblazer Treats and Family Sports Day throughout the year. The board of directors is currently planning their campaign for the 2008/9 school year and will be distributing information at the upcoming school registration event at Stone Ranch Elementary on August 7, 2008.
Located in 4S Ranch, Stone Ranch Elementary has an enrollment of approximately 1000 students and is part of the Poway Unified School District.
The Stone Ranch Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a premier education for the children of Stone Ranch Elementary School by focusing support on science, arts and athletics.
