Querencia Community Bike Shop

Collective Council Meeting Minutes

Attended by: Taylor, Jon T., Remington, Eric, Kati, Devin, Nic

Last meetings minutes approved

Barnes and Noble Gift Wrap: Kati clarified with Thom, only 2 days were available and they are

weekdays right before x-mas. Group can’t do it.

Next Ride

• Rout length – 10ish miles

• Possibly to North Lakes Park, possibly including Riney rd. bike lane

• “Fix-a-Flat Ride” proposed as a name to incorporate pre-ride shop clinic

• Remington, Nic and possibly Devin and Jon will do the “recon ride” to plan route.

UNT Proposals

• Sustainability Council is who we need to get ahold of. Taylor has been trying but has not heard back, probably due to late in semester busy-ness of the University

• Discussion of giving out proposals and attempting to set up a meeting or being included in one of their meeting agendas.

Trailer Idea

• Devin and Nic had an email brainstorm

• Smaller trailer would probably be best. 6x8 up to 6x12 would be perfect.

• We should contact Austin Yellow Bike Project. They might be able to help us track down a trailer. Remington will contact them.

• One that is already enclosed would be ideal, but a utility or horse trailer would also work if we enclosed it ourselves.

Used bike tubes from Bicycles Plus? Maybe put up flyers in Art building advertising free tubes.

Shop (Internal) Clinic

• Date: a Friday evening – Friday 11/21 at 7:45pm at Devin’s

• Repair stands: Remington will contact necessary folks so Nic can get them.

• Location – Devin’s house on 921 N. Carroll

• Have next meeting at Clinic instead of next Sunday

• Topics: Flat repair/prevention, derailleurs, brakes, and chains
