Collective Council Meeting Minutes
Attended by: Devin Taylor, Nic, Remington, Jon Triantafyllou
Steering Committee Elections:
Nominations are closed.
Nic moved to postpone formal election/recognizing until more members present. Devin 2nded.
Future ride discussions:
Website hits increase with ride promotion.
Pre-ride inspections at future rides discussed/suggested
Discussion of having rides at same place and time every ride until shop space is acquired. –Emily Fowler agreed upon for ride meeting spots.
Time for rides – 2pm for winter time, 11am for Spring/Summer
Discussion of ride distance increasing and offering varied rides or dual routes with various distances – looking at future rides.
Discussion for eventually having a cycling club with longer and faster rides in the future.
Devin suggested creating a bike registry. Could be done at future rides.
NEXT RIDE - group agrees to bring route ideas for next meeting.
Supporter List:
Remington contacted Joe Richmond, Associate Director for Transportation Services at UNT. Hasn’t heard back yet. Will follow up.
Churches and Libraries discussed as possible supporters.
Nic agreed to give Paul Tanis (The Cupboard) and Denton Bicycle a plan.
Bicycle Path possible supporter. Remington will contact.
Masons and other charitable community organizations might be a good idea too.
Possible Shop Day:
Thoughts of having a shop day – looking at Dec 14th
Potential locations: Dans? – The Cupboard – (Nic checked and The Cupboard likes the idea)
Remington has a friend who helps small nonprofits fundraise through grant writing. He is very willing to help us: Ross Wortham.
