Mr. Schlosser,
I have been informed that you recieved a pink slip and I will do my best to avoid you getting layed off. You are a great teacher and you do not deserve this therefore I have made a petition for students to sign, and I will also ask teachers to sign a slip. My mom is rounding up parents and she is having a petition herself for parents to sign.

Teachers are the key to a successful future. Therefore we the students have gathered to protect our fellow teachers from such an abrupt decision.
President Barack Obama has recognized the importance of teachers himself by stating “I’m not going to be a president who just talks about how teachers are great. I’m going to reward them for their greatness. (http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/michaelnegron/C xHG).” We believe the same thing, teachers are great and should be rewarded for their greatness, and this is not the way to do it. Teachers are being warned that they will be leaving the institutions in which they are currently working in.
When a pink slip is handed to a teacher it not only signifies that they will be dismissed but it also signifies that students will lose a great teacher who would have lead them to a prestigious future.
Teachers set expectations for a student and if the student is not fallowing these expectations a teacher will take time to help them. Some teachers even provide their students with extra supplies, from their own pockets, to help lead those students in the right direction. If class sizes increase many teachers will have to develop a different and less effective way of teaching students, and this will have a negative impact on us.
We would not like for any of these things to occur and that is why we will stand together teachers, parents, and students. We will not allow for our economic crisis to take such a plow on our education. We are the future!

Of course the original copy has more space for signatures. Tell me what you think of it, well it won't really make much of a difference because I will have kids signing it first thing. :) I'll see you tomorrow Mr. Schlosser.
