Welcome and Announcements

A Time for Gathering

Prelude and Centering

*Opening Hymn # 558 (Brown) Beneath the Cross

*Call to Worship

One: God's mercies never end; they are new every morning.

We gather in gratitude, that our faith may increase.

Many: We will sing our songs of praise.

We will proclaim the good news of the gospel.

One: Take delight in God, who is with us wherever we go.

Trust God, even when we do not feel link singing.

Many: We will commit all our ways to God.

We will wait patiently for answers to our prayers.

* Prayer: Astonishing God, whose purposes are often accomplished in unexpected ways, release in us the gifts you have entrusted to us, that we may realize the power, love, and self-discipline that make for meaningful service in Christ's name. Help us to use whatever faith we have to accomplish great things for you and to reduce the hatred and violence of our world. Amen.

Our Prayers of Confession

*Call to Confession: Let us examine ourselves before God.

*Prayer of Confession: O God, we face our world with fear. We would rather avoid conflict than speak our truth in love. We would rather get angry than show how hurt we are. Sometimes the problems around us seem overwhelming. The distress within us is staggering. Too often we lash out at others rather than turning to you for guidance and strength. Remake us, loving God. Amen

*Assurance of Pardon: Open yourselves to the grace, mercy, and peace God offers. Great is the faithfulness of our God.

*Gloria Patri (Brown Hymnal: back page)

A Time for Stewardship

Offertory Invitation: Our wealth allows us the joyous opportunity to invest in ways that will make a difference in the lives of others. If we see the treasures we have received as private property, to be used only for our own benefit, they will entrap us. In the church, we are committed to sharing our faith and the blessings of the Holy Spirit.

Presentation of Talent

Children present their Talent

Children’s Chat

Presentation of our Treasure: The offering is collected at this time.

* Doxology

* Prayer of Dedication: We are grateful to you, O God, for the faith we have inherited. We give thanks for the courage and faithfulness of ancestors who suffered for the gospel that we might know your love. We join with them in putting our trust in you. May we match their generosity and self-discipline, seeking above all else to know your will and do it. To that end, we dedicate our offerings. Amen
