Distant healing event

25 July 2008

Glossary of terms from the Participant's Report (Part One)

Chakras:

  1. Base (1st) chakra - red - located at the top of the legs - seat of survival, safety. security and groundedness; also feeds life force to the lower section of the torso - bowels, rectum, and anus.
  2. Sacral (2nd) chakra - orange - located a few centimeters below the navel - seat of creativity and sexuality; also feeds life force to the reproductive system.
  3. Solar plexus (3rd) chakra - yellow - seat of self-identity, personal power and the intellect; also feeds life force to the stomach and digestive system.
  4. Heart (4th) chakra - green/rose pink - seat of giving and receiving love; also feeds life force to the heart and lungs.
  5. Throat (5th) chakra - blue - seat of self-expression, communication and "speaking one's truth" - also feeds life force to the throat, ears and nasal passages.
  6. Brow or Third Eye (6th) chakra - indigo blue - located between the eyebrows - seat of intuition and perception; also feeds life force to the eyes and brain.
  7. Crown (7th) chakra - violet - located at the crown of the head - seat of  connection to Spirit; also feeds life force to the brain.
  8. 8th chakra - magenta - located about a hand above the crown of the head -  seat of the life task.   The eighth and ninth chakras begin the process of stepping down higher energies so that the physical body can handle them.
  9. 9th chakra - turquoise - the seat of joy, and closely connected to the energies of the Christ Consciousness.  This chakra is also known as the Soul Star and connects us to our guides, past lives and soul group, and to our roles as stewards and watchers of the Earth.
  10. 10th chakra - white and gold - the seat of healing ourselves at the deepest levels, and being connected to All That Is.  The 10th Chakra serves as the hub for the Soul or the Higher Self.  This is the you that exists between lifetimes, the you that agreed to the lessons you're learning in this life.  This Chakra can be visualized as a whirlpool above the head.  It is believed that all healing must be "locked into" the 10th Chakra for it to be fully effective.

The endocrine system - (see pic below on the left) - is an integrated system of small organs that involve the release of extracellular signaling molecules known as hormones.

The endocrine system is instrumental in regulating metabolism, growth, development and puberty, tissue function, and also plays a part in determining mood. The Endocrine system is an information signal system much like the nervous system. However, the nervous system uses nerves to conduct information, whereas the endocrine system mainly uses blood vessels as information channels.

Glands located in many regions of the body release into the bloodstream specific chemical messengers called hormones. Hormones regulate the many and varied functions of an organism, e.g., mood, growth and development, tissue function, and metabolism, as well as sending messages and acting on them. Although we rarely think about them, the glands of the endocrine system and the hormones they release influence almost every cell, organ, and function of our bodies. The endocrine system is instrumental in regulating mood, growth and development, tissue function, and metabolism, as well as sexual function and reproductive processes.

In general, the endocrine system is in charge of body processes that happen slowly, such as cell growth. Faster processes like breathing and body movement are controlled by the nervous system. But even though the nervous system and endocrine system are separate systems, they often work together to help the body function properly. More info at this link.

Geopathic Stress Geopathic Stress is created by the distortion of the Earth’s vibrations which rise up through the earth and are distorted by weak electromagnetic fields created by subterranean running water, certain mineral concentrations, fault lines and underground cavities. This disharmonic vibration becomes abnormally strong and is harmful to living organisms.  For more info, see these links:

GEOPATHIC STRESS:

(Illness from the Earth) :

Geo = Earth

Pathos = Suffering

WHAT IS GEOPATHIC STRESS?

Definition: Geopathic Stress is the name given to natural or man-made energies emanating from the earth, which are detrimental to human health.

The effects of GS are so insidious - GS cannot be seen nor adequately explained in scientific terms, but the effects of it can be seen in the increasing number of working days lost through illness and the rising statistics for serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease etc.

Geopathic energies do not recognise boundaries, as they can pass through walls, windows and closed doors. The effects of GS undermine and weaken a person’s life force, thus causing ill health or even just ‘feeling under par’.

Examples of things that cause GS are not only ley lines (man-made energy lines) and disturbances caused by underground water (either flowing or stagnant), but also natural, geological structures such as ore deposits and man-made structures such as mining or large buildings, foundations, sewage and water pipes, underground transport systems. We also count electro-magnetic pollution in the form of overhead or underground cables, phone masts and electricity generating stations, or sub-stations .

BRIEF TECHNICAL EXPLANATION:

Geopathic theory states that the inner Earth normally vibrates at 8Hz as it rotates. However, locations of geopathic stress have vibrations at much higher frequencies.

If the inner Earth's vibration of 8 Hz crosses a water vein 60-150 metres underground, stress lines vibrating at up to 250 Hz can be created. Similar to EMFs, such frequency anomalies are said to cause disturbances in the immune system, behaviour and cell structure.

If the exposure to geopathic energies is short-lived, then in general the effects are transitory, although some people will show symptoms of tiredness, inattention and headaches when sitting in a geopathically stressed area for even one or two hours.

But imagine the cumulative effect of years spent sleeping in the same bedroom, or sitting in the same chair in the office, and you will realise that a person’s exposure to a particular form of detrimental energy could be devastating for their health and wellbeing.

WHAT CAUSES GEOPATHIC STRESS?

The earth’s core is molten metal and as it spins electric currents are created within these metals that produces a magnetic field. Man has evolved within the earth’s magnetic field, and can cope with the slight fluctuations from time to time caused by weather and the sun’s activity. But when the earth’s magnetic field is disturbed so that the background field we experience is different to normal, the human body can experience unusual stresses that lead to ill health or a slowing down of the normal healing processes.

‘Energy drains’ are natural structures that regulate the earth’s energy flow by funnelling away negative energies; if these become blocked, this can impair the earth’s natural ability to balance and harmonise its energy.

SO WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS/EFFECTS OF HAVING GS?

The effect is gradual, involving a slow deterioration in health in those who are most susceptible to GS. As a result, they often find it difficult to feel happy, energetic, emotionally stable and physically well.

The most frequently experienced symptoms are:

• Disturbed sleep, waking often, strange dreams, wake feeling tired
• Babies and children fret and don’t sleep well
• Restlessness
• General tiredness
• ‘Sick building syndrome’
• Inability to get well and stay well
• Immune system problems
• Repeated miscarriages or infertility problems
• Birth defects
• Any other symptom, but especially ME, headaches, hyperactivity, some cancers
• A general feeling of something being not ‘quite right’ with a particular area or room
• Cracks or damp in a building that keeps re-occurring

People vary in their susceptibility to GS, and which part of the body and for how long it is in contact with the energy. Different geopathic energies vibrate at different frequencies, so if a particular energy vibrates at the same frequency as a particular body organ, it will damage that organ.

Some energies affect only women, as they vibrate with their ovaries.

GS often goes to the person’s weakest point, producing illness there, eg. throat, stomach. Therefore, in this case the GS brings out an underlying weakness in the body.

If a negative energy line crosses them where they sleep, it may be that particular part of the body that is affected, e.g. painful or arthritic knees. If you are ill, first try moving your bed to a different spot, and if that improves matters, the chances are you have GS in your bedroom.

Because of the above, GS may affect different people in the same building differently, so an HK practitioner would first of all examine the situation as it relates to each individual in the building. Each member of the family may have a different susceptibility to GS, and so there may be one family member, for example, who is only well when they all go on holiday somewhere else!

Ants, bees and cats thrive in areas of high GS. So if your cat only sleeps on your lap when you are in one particular chair, he may in fact be soaking up the negative energies in that spot, rather than being affectionate! Dogs hate geopathic energies, so if you want a good night’s sleep, choose the dog’s favourite area of the house!

Grounding to Mother Earth - being properly grounded to the Earth is crucial for our survival as individuals and as communities during incarnations on this planet. By remaining connected to the centre of the Earth, we are also able to connect to the rest of the solar system, the galaxy and the universe, because our planet is our connection to the rest of the cosmos.  When we are not grounded (and it is possible for large groups of people and entire nations to become "ungrounded"¸ particularly when it has been in a crisis situation for many years), we can become easily stressed¸ tired and irritable, like a tree whose roots do not reach deeply enough into the Earth, easily blown over in a passing wind. When we are grounded, we are able to receive pure earth energy, which we need on a daily basis, directly from Mother Earth, who is a living, breathing consciousness with whom we can communicate at a very deep level.

Neurotransmitters - There are more than 300 known neurotransmitters which transmit information within the brain and from the brain to all the parts of the body. Acetylcholine, for example, sends messages to the skeletal muscles, sweat glands, and heart; serotonin release underlies the process of learning and consciousness.  Knowledge of the specific functions of neurotransmitters is still in its infancy, but it seems that each one probably plays some role in most behaviors. Most neurotransmitters are made from amino acids obtained from the protein in food you consume. Neurotransmitters are the brain chemicals that motivate or sedate, focus or frustrate. Their complex interaction is what shifts our moods and changes our minds. Ensuring adequate neurotransmitter levels is crucial for optimal brain heath and fitness, however, poor nutrition is not the only obstacle. Stress, infection, and drugs tend to diminish neurotransmitter levels, as does impaired digestion and circulation.  A neurotransmitter imbalance is usually involved in brain disorders, including Parkinson's disease, attention-deficits, and obsessive-compulsive behavior.

Ovaries (pic on left) - The female reproductive glands which produce eggs and sex hormones in women. There are two ovaries, one on each side, and they are connected to the uterus. Ovulation occurs when a mature egg (ovum or gamete) is released from the ovary during the 28-day menstrual cycle. Estrogen is the primary female hormone produced mainly by the ovaries from puberty to menopause, and progesterone is a hormone produced and released during the second half of a woman's ovulatory cycle, secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary after ovualtion has occurred. It is also produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It is necessary in the preparation of the uterine lining for implantation of the fertilized egg.

Perception - the way one perceives the world and oneself, via the 5 senses, as well as the "6th sense".

Perineum - seat of the Base Chakra - in the female between the vulva and the anus, in males, between the scrotum and the anus.

Pineal gland (see pic on right) - located below the corpus callosum, the pineal, also known as the epiphysis, produces the hormone melatonin, which may help regulate the wake-sleep cycle. It is a tiny gland in the brain which synthesizes and secretes melatonin, a structurally simple hormone that communicates information about environmental lighting to various parts of the body. Ultimately, melatonin has the ability to entrain biological rhythms and has important effects on reproductive function of many animals. The light-transducing ability of the pineal gland has led some to call the pineal the "third eye". The pineal gland is large in children, but shrinks at puberty. It appears to play a major role in sexual development, hibernation in animals, metabolism, and seasonal breeding. The abundant melatonin levels in children is believed to inhibit sexual development, and pineal tumors have been linked with precocious puberty. When puberty arrives, melatonin production is reduced. Calcification of the pineal gland is typical in adults. More info at this link and this link. See also under Endocrine system.

Pons - (image on left) - brain – part of the brainstem, located above the medulla oblongata; functions: arousal, assists in controlling autonomic functions such as the regulation of breathing and play a major role in sleep, also relays sensory information between the cerebrum and cerebellum.

Sciatic nerves - (image below on right, sciatic nerve shown in yellow) - the sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body. It runs from the back of the pelvis, through the buttocks, and all the way down both legs, ending at the feet.  Anything that compresses or irritates this nerve can cause a pain that radiates out of your lower back and travels down the leg to your calf. The pain can range from mild to extremely painful.  Sciatica can have a number of causes such as a herniated disc (often referred to as a slipped disc). This occurs when one of the discs that support the vertebra (the individual bones that make up your spine) gets temporarily pushed out of position and presses on the sciatic nerve.

Subtle bodies:

Etheric - the subtle body closest to the physical, which contains the blueprint for what is currently manifesting at a physical level.
Emotional - the subtle body where we store most of the unresolved feelings from the past which we were not able to fully experience at the time, and which were suppressed.
Mental - where we store our beliefs and notions about ourselves and the world, many of which are taught to us by our culture and community, and some of which may no longer serve a purpose for us as beings.
Spiritual - where we store energies related to our spiritual lives and development, and our connection with Source.
Etheric Template (also known as causal body #1), one of the outer layers of the auric field, holding the "ideal blueprint" for the physical body and auric field.

Celestial Body (also known as the causal body #2), said to be the subtle body through which we are able to experience spiritual bliss.

Ketheric template (also known as the causal body #3) - the outermost and most subtle layer of the auric field, holding "imprintings" from past lives and unresolved childhood memories, as well as carrying "imprintings from the current  life into the next  life.

Sympathetic Nervous System (shown on the left side in the pic below) - The Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) is a branch of the autonomic nervous system along with the enteric nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system.

It is always active at a basal level (called sympathetic tone) and becomes more active during times of stress. Its actions during the stress response comprise the fight-or-flight response.

The sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system are parts of what is commonly called the autonomic nervous system. (Autonomic = can not be controlled by the mind). You can say that these systems work in balance with each other and directly or indirectly affect almost every structure in the body (e.g. heart frequency, heart capacity, lumbar function, kidneys, blood vessels, stomach and intestines).

The sympathetic nervous system has an active "pushing" function, the parasympathetic has mainly a relaxing function. The sympathetic nervous system is located to the sympathetic chain, which connects to skin, blood vessels and organs in the body cavity. The sympathetic chain is located on both sides of the spine and consists of ganglias. The autonomic nervous system is most important in two situations: emergency situations that cause stress and require us to "fight" or take "flight", and nonemergency situations that allow us to "rest" and "digest". The autonomic nervous system also acts in "normal" situations to maintain normal internal functions and works with the somatic nervous system. When the body reacts to signals about e.g. danger it is the sympathetic ganglia that makes the lungs and the bronchial tubes are widened to give us more oxygen. The motility in the intestine is reduced - we shall not digest food - we must fight or run away! Blood is sent to the brain while skin and internal organs get less. Muscle tension is increased. Heart rate and force is increased.
