4. Throughout the entire class students will be aware of their surroundings and watch out for other students performing their step routines.  The students will avoid injury by listening closely to instructions and avoiding horse play and off task behavior.

Group

Human Knot- have 2 or 3 smaller groups then when group solves human puzzle combine to one big group. Add blindfolds to increase difficulty.  Used as a method of stretching, or put music on and stretch through a command style stretch to music.  This depends on group size and time constraints.

Stretch out muscles for routine, count kids to figure out equipment and groups

Good morning class! Today we are introducing three new moves using our background on step aerobics.  Today we will be using a lot of music so when you hear the music stop playing please stop what you are doing, look for me and listen for my instruction.  At the end of class today you will have learned 3 movements and have created your own step aerobic movement.. Mention how not being stretched properly can cause injury and no horsing around on steps.

Ask kids if everyone understands what is going on for the day and if anyone has questions.

Name your feet 1 and 2 foot.. The Demonstration will be done by myself facing a mirror with the kids behind me at each station.  As I introduce the movements the students will follow as I proceed with the movements at every station.  Students will split up into groups at each station. Students will share the steps standing on opposite sides rotating movements.. Difficulty progression from simple movement to most difficult.  Stair step, Butterfly, Punch Step

Make sure all kids are comfortable with their steps if they prefer to just do the movements on the ground allow it

There will be a rotation format between movements.  Station 1:Stair Step, Station 2:Butterfly, Station 3: Punch Step

1. Students walk up to their step and begin following my movements first: shoulder raises, shoulder shrugs, arm extension, side lunges walking in place

2. Getting comfortable with the step and moving on and off it continuously.
