1) Welcome Back!
2) E-Week SHPE Event
- Planning:
- Yesenia will make contact with Watsonville High, will keep us informed.
- Janelle has volunteered to help Yesenia in planning.
- Create a robot presentation (PowerPoint + Robot Programs)
- Chasen will like to program something on the robot.
- Nolan has also expressed interest in playing with robot
- Who would like to host?
- Survey the members via online poll
- Activities:
- Presentation at high school (2/13 [2/6 is also possibility])
- Student shadows (2/20)
- Social/Networking event on Saturday (2/21)
- Alejandro and Hector will attend SoE E-Week meeting this Friday. Will update chapter next week on other SoE events.
3) Recap on Regional Teleconference (Alejandro)
- Regional Funding Request
- Chapter of Month
- IBM Tour (2/27)
- Alejandro will get info from David S. (RSR) on event
- Regional Dance (Hosted by UC Berkeley) - 1st week in March
- RLDC (3/20 - 3/22)
- Potential new officers
- NO final cost yet
- Lifetime Student Membership Proposal
4) SVEC Scholarship and Google Scholarship
- APPLY!!! (see Virginia for more info)
5) This quarter's objectives/activities:
- Poker Tournament (Gerson)
- Gerson will start the planning on tournament
- ISMA could be possible co-host
- Fundraising, Fundraising, Fundraising!!! (Hector)
- Food at quarry; Hector will investigate logistics
- Freshman Recruitment
- Members should also recruit.
6) Some minor reassignment of officer roles
- Alejandro will take over Treasurer responsibilities due to convenience and restraints (will still require VP authorization)
- Yesenia will concentrate on outreach
- Gerson will take care of writing CFF's for NPS
- Hector will take care of agenda drafting
- Salvador will hold historian position (will create end-of-year poster)
- Ulysses has expressed interest in Webmaster position.
- Alejandro will try to setup account for Ulysses to take over website maintenance.
