Live/Fishbowl Blogging - not sure how this works - inner and outer circle.  Outer circle is blogging.
  • All students sign into one blog and have discussion online
If didn't get to ask question in class can go on blog.See what everyone else is saying. Not just what the teacher says.Talking about things outside of the classroom leaves a bigger imprint on my brain. Can expand more on ideas.  Opportunities for extension.
Even people the quieter people get to take part in the discussion. If your ever confused can ask question and come back and see answers.Allows you to see what other people are thinking.Instead of the teacher telling you what the book means you get to discuss with all your classmates what they think the book means.Goes outside classroom discussion.  Makes difference to talk about something outside of classroom. Can gain something valuable from a comment and add something more to it.

Written record of discussion.  You create a feeling of community.  A sense that we are a learning community.
It allows students to interact together and come up with our own ideas about what the book really means to us.It's expanded the discussions outside the classroom.
Connect and make other people understand.

Scribe Blogging
  • Students keep track of things we are doing in class.
  • Kids that have missed class can check as reference.
It walks the line between private and public like no other forms.  Feels like a diary so you feel a desire to be open and honest, but at the same time you are aware that the rest of the world could read what you write.Student based.
You can spend more time making your points deeper.

Can look back later and see what you discussed.
It makes me feel smart.
Can have discussion together online.

We can teach ourselves and learn from each other.
You get a chance to formulate your thoughts.
