I have a Masters degree in Computer Science and have always been involved with web technologies throughout my school years as well as present. My experience includes working for Information Technology for University Of Oklahoma apart from being the Web Director for the Indian Student Association for the university. I am very proficient with graphic designs and working with Photoshop. The main reason I think I will be able to do this is cause of my work schedule here in Boston. It is very flexible and since I get to work from home mostly, gives me a lot of room to manage my time efficiently. I have been involved with theater and music groups all my life and that is why I have an interest in the Cultural Chair position also apart from the Web Director position. Currently I am a member of SETU (Stage Ensemble Theatre Unit) and volunteer as percussionist for a dance school.
In regards to skill set for the Web Director position, I am well equipped with all round knowledge – may it be being creative with designs/graphics or writing code in any of the preferred languages for the site or managing databases and handling the forums. On the web, its all about standing out and getting the point across of what we are. I am pretty confident that I can do justice to both and have done that in the past. For things that I would like to do for the site are pretty straightforward.
1. Make it more visible to the people in and around Boston.
2. Make it more streamlined and faster.
3. Give more information about our alliances by putting a more of a spotlight and having a more active forums.
4. Just be more innovative with a medium to reach out and stand out.
