Letter of Intent for President - Kunal Mishra

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce myself and nominate myself as potential candidate for the position of President of the NetSAP – Boston Chapter.

I had my humble beginnings as does everyone else working as a researcher in the field of Bio-Technology. Having worked with the Research foundation of New York in the field of Bio-Ethanol Production, I diverted my focus away from the life sciences world and more in the convoluted arena of business. Currently I work as a consultant as Business Solutions Analyst for Sunlife Financials.

I had my inaugural chance to serve the NetSAP Boston chapter as a volunteer at the grass root level and then rising to the ranks of the Sponsorship Chair on the 2008 Board. Having served on the logistic team for the NETIP-conference 2008 I have realized the strong bond and sense of commitment I have established with NetSAP. NetSAP carries the motto of socio-professional development, community service and networking which I would like to spread to every diverse South Asian group.

As a child, when growing up, the values and responsibility of community service was instilled in me. This was enforced by service to the scout, assisting polio drives across Bombay. In college I served as an active volunteer for CRY. The CRY camps were focused on literacy drives in the slums of Dharavi. Being a part of this filled me with a satisfactory feeling of had contributed to the community at hand and society at large. I wish that every being in every society can realize that the inner comfort could be derived through community service. In my academical pursuit, apart from the scholarships earned at every level of education, the most distinctive was being awarded the Phi beta delta award of honorary student for graduate studies.

If given a chance, under my strong leadership and compassionate team building infused with hard work, I would levitate NetSAP to the ranks of the best chapter as this chapter has always been conferred with.

I would work tirelessly to identify issues of importance to NetSAP-Boston and then take actions to deal with those issues. Team building is an important aspect of any venture and this chapter is no different. One of the import issues would be to retain people who know the cause and are the valuable resources within NetSAP. I would strive to brand Netsap as premier non profit organization truly representing the south Asians and the principles it upholds. This would increase the visibility of NetSAP within the public domain with rich community recognition. I would like to manage NetSAP-Boston with a down-top hierarchy with all of its chairs performing their task with informed leadership coming from its members. This would not only reinforce the strong commitment of the volunteers towards the chapter but adds values of what Netsap can offer in return.

I would like to conclude this nomination with a word of “thanks”, and if given a chance I would do the utmost than demanded to rise to the caliber and perform my duties with due diligence.
