Perfecting your PR plan is a podcast series designed to aid PR professionals and students in creating a plan for any situation that requires public relations. Each week I will discuss a different aspect of the 10-part plan. This podcast series is based on the PR plans and Problems class, taught by Professor Tom Hagley at the University of Oregon.
Before we begin today, I want to take a brief moment to explain why a plan is important in public relations. A plan is a tool to suggest and implement public relations activities. A good plan will ensure that your campaign is built on a strong foundation of research. It will allow you to track your campaign’s effectiveness. PR plans help practitioners roll out campaigns on time and within budget. This series will aid you in constructing a plan that will be ready for action.
