SketchUp for Mechanical Design

We received the following email from our good friend Earl who's always reminding us that SketchUp is used in all kinds of design disciplines.
Brad,
My!.......is there any doubt that SketchUp really is capable of communicating design ideas in the Mechanical Engineering world?! You and I both know that once they start using this revolutionary new Program (SketchUp,) that engineers will come flocking!!
The following are some recent drawings I did in SketchUp. It's an Access Platform to Radiation Decontamination Equipment at a Reactor Pump Facility. I showed this to my boss yesterday. His eyes got as big as Golf Balls and all he could say was...WOW! He was amazed that SketchUp was capable of producing "Shop Fabrication Drawings" like these.
I recall a class at the 3DBC last year called something like..."From SketchUp to the Shop?," Well, we here at the Westinghouse Richland Service Center, have been proving that daily!
