Mad Lib, version #1:
Backyard Surprise: a Buggy Mad-Lib
Yesterday I woke up early feeling a bit disapponted. But I still ate my regular breakfast of brussel sprouts with a glass of water. Then I went outside to see if anything unusua had happened during the night. Surprise! The sky was now red and the grass had turned into stinky bugs. Noise filled the air. It sounded like a thousand hamburgers humming. Suddenly, a giant beetle flew right past my head and when I looked down, a two-foot-long stinkbug crawled over my foot. Yuck! Up in the tree was a group of red ants hanging upside down eating pineapple and broccoli. Over my head another group of dragonflies was flying loops through the sky. Even strange, the biggest bugs had a nametag, Smiley, and he actually began talking to me. "We didn't mean to scare you but we ran out of steak and crab legs. Believe it or not, those are our favorites."
"I've got plenty," I said. "And I'd be happy to share." So I went inside my house to the bathroom and gathered everything together to put it in a bathtub for them to carry home. The bugs thanked me and left. Everything went back to normal. I felt pretty proud of myself until I turned around and saw a group of cheetahs on the lawn, which was starting to turn a lovely shade of blue.

It sounded like a thousand horses humming. Suddenly, a giant butterfly flew right past my head and when I looked down, a two-foot-long scorpion crawled over my foot. Yuck! Up in the tree was a group of hissing cockroaches hanging upside down eating apple and celery. Over my head another group of ladybugs was flying loops through the sky. Even strange, the biggest bugs had a nametag, Tootey, and he actually began talking to me. "We didn't mean to scare you but we ran out of fried chicken legs and crickets. Believe it or not, those are our favorites."
