A Body Paragraph?  What’s That?

The point of a body paragraph is to prove to your reader that your thesis statement is correct.  Each body paragraph coincides with your thesis points…For Example

Thesis Statement:  Cats are better then dogs because they are furry, cute and loyal.

Body Paragraph One:  Explain the furriness of cats vs. dogs.  Why does the furriness make cats better?

Body Paragraph Two:  Explain the cuteness of cats vs. dogs.  Why does the cuteness make cats better then dogs.

Body Paragraph Three:  Explain the loyalty of cats vs. dogs.  Why are cats more loyal then dogs?

*Remember that these paragraphs should be standard.  An opening sentence with your main point, followed by two sentences that prove your main point and a final sentence that acts as a transition into your next paragraph…  I know, sounds complicated--- don’t worry we will go over this in class!
