If your Sony Vegas (30 day trial) is about to expire please download the next trial version Sony Vegas Platinum It is advised that you get your files onto a seperate disk or to teacher tube before your trial expires. You can also move the files between the expiring version of Vegas and the Platinum version.

How to start a note page on Google Docs
In Google Docs
Click New Document
Type Practice Page
Now it is saved as practice page: first thing we do is title the document.
If you need to search for an item the name will be very pertinent.
Three things to do in the Practice Document
1. Picture (in google docs...just INSERT...PICTURE)
2. Link (copy the address of website) in google docs press link, paste.
3. Text (copy and paste text or type text) like in MS Word
IMPORTANT:
Build a Rubric for your next project in Google Docs and Add Hiphughes@gmail.com as collaborator.
Your job is to write the script for a trailer for a TV show or movie. Please check the rubric for specifics. Please use the rubric as only a guide for making your movie, while I will use portions of the rubric related to the actual film (not the planning process) it is not technically our rubric.

- Write the trailer script and record your voiceover. You may do this directly onto your camera.
- Storyboard and get as many shots as you can for your next film.

Please do the following for October 18 (NO CLASS Oct. 11)
- Download Sony Vegas Studio there are two files to be downloaded to your laptop and/or desktop; Vegas Movie Studio and DVD Architect Studio. These will be the editing software for future projects
- Download the Quick Start Guide for Sony Vegas Studio 9
- Go to the Blog to post any troubleshooting questions so that we can help you during the week.
- Bring your LAPTOP
- Bring HEADPHONES
Please do the following for next week.
- If you haven't already please post your introduction on the "Who Are You" Discussion Board.
- Post your text choice and rational on the I-Speak Discussion Board. I would think Thursday would be a good due date if you would like feedback.
- Storyboard your film. This is at a minimum. No storyboard by next week, little chance of success.
Download a you Storyboard if you would like a blank one.
- The more resources you bring with you next week the more time you will have to edit and make your movie powerful. You don't want to be running around Saturday trying to get shots. Here are some thing to try and accomplish.
- FILM YOUR VOICE. Read your I-Speak text directly into the front of the camera. We will extract the audio from the video next week. Do it a few times until you are happy with the pacing, the mood and the feel of it.
- Get as many shots as you can. While you want to stick to your storyboard, you can also get other shots which you might be able to use. Remember basic rules such as; close-ups, lighting behind, using angles, the rule of 1/3rds, steady hands, temporary ban on zooming and purposeful framed recording. No drunk wedding shots. Remember, the more "junk" you bring in the more you have to sift through. I would say for a 90 seconds film, you should not have more than 5 minutes of raw film and that would even be a lot.

- Be sure to be on time. It is not a bad idea to try and plan on being here by 8:45 to give yourself a chance to grab a cup of Joe and a pastry so we are ready to rock by 9.
