President --- 2 candidatesEwa Dziergas Hi,
my name is Ewa and I'm the current vice-president of the Polish Student
Alliance. I believe that the experience that I have gained this year
will allow me to successfully lead the Polish Club next year. I will be
a senior and be over with MCATs, so I will have lots of time to take
care of the business. I'm highly motivated and I love working with the
Polish Community. I volunteer with Dar Serca and in Lutheran General
Hospital. I am really outgoing, smart, and a hard worker.
Next
semester I would like to bring back the Polish Mass, do more cultural
events and work more closely with Polonia. I think that the Polish
Student Alliance under my leadership will grow in strength and numbers.
Nika Cierech My
name is Nika Cierech and I’m running for president of the PSA. I was
the vice president of Polish Club at Maine East High School where there
are a lot of Polish students along with students of many other
nationalities. This culturally and ethnically diverse school has really
opened my eyes and I realize how important it is to preserve our
culture and traditions. Because of the numerous Polish students at
Loyola University we are able to have a Polish club and organize
various events throughout the school year, some more serious than
others.
I
am an international business student and in order to succeed unity and
teamwork are key, but there must be a strong leader. I believe
integration is vital but taking into account that we have so many
Polish students but not very many involved it has been difficult to do
so. Thus, more events need to be planned in order to make the PSA as
strong as it can be.
I
believe my previous experience as VP and my involvement in the PSA this
year as well as an open personality this year make me an excellent
candidate for PSA’s president for the 2008-2009 school year. I’m
professional and effective, yet laid back and fun. Time to step it up a
notch (or three) for next year
Vice President ---- 1 candidateMonica Medrano My name is Monica Medrano, and I am
running for the position of Vice-President. This year, as Treasurer of
PSA, I have come to learn a lot about our club. I know our strengths,
as well as the things that have to be changed in order to have an even
more successful year. I am a responsible, well organized individual. I
am smart, outgoing, like to stay on top of things and lead. With my
former experience and bursting energy, I am confident that I would be a
great vice-president.
Secretary --- 1 candidatePatricia Jamrozowicz Hi, my name is Patricia Jamrozowicz and I
would like to be your secretary for the following year. Throughout
this year, I’ve attended Polish mass, the Navy Pier boat cruise, and
board meetings. Before coming to Loyola University I was part of a
Polish folk dancing group, Polonia. Also for the past three years,
I've been very involved in charity work for a Polish organization, The
Legion of Young Polish Women, which I was a debutante for. I am an
active member with the Legion and attend their board meetings. Over
the summer I am a camp counselor at PNA Youth Camp in Yorkville. As you
can see I’m pretty dedicated to our Polish community and am willing to
work just as hard to be your secretary.
-So please vote for me and you will not regret it. Thank you!
Treasurer --- 1 candidateAshley Park My
name is Ashley Park. Next year I am interested in being part of
Loyola’s PSA committee. I would like to be treasurer for the
polish club. I have come to a few of PSA meetings this year and
I really enjoyed being in polish club. One fun event I went to
was the polish barnyard dance down at U of I. I enjoyed coming
to the meetings and watching the polish films. I would like to
stay involved in PSA next year. I would like to get involved in
planning the events and running some of the meetings. I am not
fluent in the Polish, but this year I have taken classes to learn the
language. I have also taken a theology class about Jan Pawel II
and his life during World War II. I am taking a polish authors
in translation class. I like this class a lot. I have learned
a lot about the different time periods in Poland, as well as learning
about many famous polish authors. I have a lot of ideas which
I would like to contribute to the Loyola’s PSA.
Event Coordinator - 1 candidateAnn AchufusiDear Voters,
My name is Ann Achufusi and I would like to serve next year as your event coordinator. I
have several experiences that I think will make me a good candidate for
this position. Most importantly, I have served on the board of the
Polish Student Alliance as a secretary this year. I am also a secretary
for the LUC’s Sociology Club and a Member at Large for the African
Student Alliance. I love student organizations,
being involved on campus and organizing events. What would I like to
offer/promise you next year? More events, events, and then some more
events. I feel that that the Polish Student
Alliance and its success are close to my heart, and I would like to be
a part of strengthening its presence on our campus next year. All the best,
Ann Achufusi
Public relations --- 2 candidatesUla Biegaj My name is Ula Biegaj and I am running for the Public
Relations position of the PSA. I have been in this position for almost one
school year and enjoy being part of the club. Whenever PSA has organized an
event it has been my responsibility to create fliers and posters to advertise
when and where each event would take place. From the Sweetest Day cruise to
general meetings and movie nights, I have enjoyed expressing my creativity
through the advertisements and alerts. Also, at every event that I attended, I
took pictures and posted them on our club boards to show exactly what the PSA
does and how much fun we have. These are the reasons I'm interested in running
for the Public Relations position for the 2008-2009 academic year. Thanks so
much for your time and for voting!
Jessica Lugowski Hi My name is Jessica Lugowski and I'm going to be a freshman at LUC in
the fall. I'm planning on becoming a dentist some day. I'm applying for
the Public Relations position. I am very personable and outgoing and
love contacting others and helping organize events. I love to
constantly be in the midst of a large crowd, and could definately use
this to lure others into the organization. I haven't been really
involved in the PSA since I am only going to be a freshman, but my
sister is on the board now and I have been to a few of the events that
PSA held. I want to make the Polish Student Alliance bigger, better,
and stronger. Most importantly I want to be a part of the Polish
community at Loyola.
