Progress Report on Ad Hoc Committee UUFSCC Hiring and Firing Policies

We have been reading over the PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL FOR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS and the UUFSCC EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK.  And, a DVD called
"CHURCH MUTUAL" .
We are attempting to contact other churches in the area to compare policy.  Iran and I have had 2 meetings to look over the materials.  We also had a meeting with Karen in the office. 
There are two areas of the Employees Handbook that we are interested in changing the wording and or adding to what is stated for  Dismissal:  (4) Employees may be terminated with or without cause and with or withour notice at any time by the Felllowship.  Nothing in this handbook or in any document or statement shall limit the right to terminate employment at will. 
 
We know that this is Californis Code so we can't change what is said but we may add to this statement with permission.  This is what we are researching now
 
The other area of  Concern is the formula in which way we collect vacation pay time.  The way it is currently assumes a person is working full time all year.   More information will be in the next report.
