Student canteen improvement to convenient to students
  City University canteen services have a big goal that giving a high quality food service to our students. In order to provide a suitable environment for student in stead of outside food restaurant service, our canteen should be convenient to our students to have a good lunch at canteen. Compare with City University canteen and outside canteen, our canteen provide an affordable price for serving food. However, some students would rather go to outside canteen with high cost than City University canteen because some students do not satisfy with the canteen decoration and colours and the other facilities. In the following, we will discuss the details of the problem and the possible solution to make our City University canteen to be prefect.


    To begin with, City University canteen only used simple soft colour for the Interior decoration, but that soft color painting is too monotonic and boring. Difference decoration has difference emotional effect for the people. For example, the youth canteen, which likes tea restaurant in Hong Kong and located at Hong Kong kowloon, is a place for preaching the god. Compare with the canteen for the youth and City University, the same characteristic are both using soft color painting but difference in the sculptures., The decorations of youth canteen have some murals. The designer for the Youth canteen said that the main goal for that decoration used to build an environment for religious follower to think more about their life with help of god.The decorations of canteen of student's canteen should provide a comfortable atmosphere for the student to socialize and relax during lunch.While our canteen decorations are not attractive to the students to socialize during lunch because of boring decoration.
    In addition, our City University canteen is lack of other facilities, for example, not enough the cashier counters, insufficient express cashier and little type of vending machine for selling food. Our students cannot use the canteen conveniently during rush hours and they do not satisfy with the service choice. Firstly, the cashier counters are full of people every day during the rush hours, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Many students spent a lot of time for buying food, so they need to eat faster in order to reach their lectures place in time after finished the lunch. Secondly, our canteen lack express cashier, only four express cashiers located in our City University canteen canteen. When rush hour begins, a lot of people need to wait for using the cashier counters and the express cashier. Four express cashiers are not enough for serving thousands of students during rush hour. Thirdly, only two vending machines located outside our canteen, the food types are limited without any change. That food types only have a few of choice. Therefore, our students are seldom using those machines to buy foods. Lastly, our canteen food types provide a lot of meat but little vegetable. Many students think that is not a healthy diet, so they will prefer to go outside restaurant to have better healthy diet.Therefore, lacking services counter and express cashier are inconvenient to students and unhealthy diet will pose threat to our students. 

    To start with, changing painting colours and having sculptures or pictures on the wall are possible solutions to make our City University canteen to be more attractive. Firstly, the painting should be changed to have mixing of difference colour. Drawer said that the color could dominate our human feeling. For instance, we can use red colour, and purple colour painting to mix with the white colour painting. The colour consultant Christine Chan suggested that red colour could motivate person to enjoy their life and purple colour arouse emotional thinking.  That mixing colour can remains the relaxing feeling of the soft colour and make City University canteen to diversify and become attractive. Secondly, we can draw some picture on the wall. We can select the pictures drawn from our students or some famous art pictures. Those pictures have a good way to provide a chance for our students to think deeper in their life. At a result, we can stimulate and encourage students having all-round development, not only focus on their studies. Say for example, placing some pictures containing tree or sky can make students have a fresh feel.That stimulation can make students to relax during lunch.


    Firstly,providing a convenient environment for students to have a good lunch should be done, increasing number of cashier counter to and types of vending machine must carry out.Because reducing the time spending for buying foods is convenient to our students to have a diet without waiting too long time. Moreover, our canteen should provide some healthy diet with a lot of vegetables. The health expert commended that less meat much vegetables lunch would be benefit to people health. Because our City University canteen is serving many students, types of food should be healthy to body. For the sake of student’s health, the healthy food diet should be provided without delay. That diet can provide a way for students to have a healthier lunch. Many researches found that have a balance diet can benefit to our body health. Since our students always focus on their study and seldom do any sports,they will become fat and not health. But if our students can take healthy diet everyday in university canteen,the nutrition taken by every students can be sufficient without exceeding the diary need.As a result, that diet servicescan make the students' health to be better.


     To conclude, in order to make our canteen to be more attractive and more convenient to our students. The painting should be changed to have mixing of difference soft colour and draw some pictures on the wall. Those pictures or design layout can be used from our students. Although it seems that more workload will add to our students, every student is willing to join with this activity in order to make our university canteen to have better environment.Also, our university canteen lacks a lot of facilities to facilitate with our students to get an enjoyable lunch. Increasing the number of cashier is a great solution to reducing the student's waiting time for buying foods during rush hour. That will be convenient to students. As a result, the number of students having their lunch at school canteen will increase. Lastly, increasing the types of food provided is a good method to attract students to have a high quality environment to enjoy their lunch at City university canteen. Increasing food types of canteen provided, students can have more choices to get their favorites they like.
