Conference on College Composition and Communication, 2008, New Orleans.  I participated in a panel with Patti Smith and Jeanne Ezell titled, "Academic Gateways vs. Academic Gatekeepers:  The Realities of Academic Literacy Issues in the Two-Year College."  My talk was on technological literacy.

Conference on College Composition and Communication, 2007, New York.  I participated in a panel on teaching and research in the two-year college with Patti Smith, Joanna Howard, Bradley Bleck, and Nell Ann Pickett.  My presentation was on oral history and two-year college research.

 

Two-Year College Association--Southeast, 2007, Jacksonville, FL.  My talk for the 2007 TYCA-SE conference was called "Casting Classrooms for the 21st Century Student:  Blogs, iPods, Wikis and Beyond."  See conference blog:  http://castingclassrooms.blogspot.com.


Creating Futures Through Technology Conference, 2007, Biloxi, MS.  I participated in a panel with Tammy Townsend, Patti Smith, and Caroline Kelly.  Our title was, "Turnitin.Gotcha: Plagiarism Detection Services and Best and Worst Practices."

Associated Writing Programs, 2006, Austin, TX.  I participated in a panel on teaching creative writing to non-majors with Tammy Townsend, Randy Phillis, Carol Christ, and Mark Cox. 
 

Conference on College Composition and Communication, 2006, Chicago. I participated in a panel on the politics of personal writing in composition with Michael Edwards and Peter Elbow.

 

Two-Year College Association--Southeast, 2005, Jackson, MS.  Tammy Townsend and I presented on using blogs in the English classroom.

"Harry Potter and the Monsters and Magic of Literature," 2006, Ellisville, MS.  I gave this talk on campus at JCJC to an audience of students and interested members of the public as part of the fulfillment of my Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher of the Year Award.
