Minutes of the Sacramento Valley Returned Peace Corps Volunteers’ Board Meeting
January 8, 2008

Members present:  Faith Boucher, Debra DeBondt, Steve Riggs, Nancy Sinnwell, Heidi Steger,                              Mark Stivers, Jim Water, Audrey Wiechman
Members absent:  Fran Kennedy, Bruce Sandie

1.  December minutes
        -correct Mid Winter dinner fee to $5 per person, $10 per family
        -motion by Mark, second by Steve, approved with the correction

2.  Treasure’s Report
        -12-1-07 - balance $1,434.99
        -1-1-08 - balance $2,229.99
        -now transferred to Golden One
        -Mark will close the Merchant’s account

3.  Speaking Event at CSUS
        -Mark attended with Nicole

4.  Christmas Promise
        -about 20 people attended to wrap gifts

5.  Calendar Sales
        -Heidi has two to sell, Jim has one to sell, Nancy has one to sell
        -remainder should be sold at the mid winter dinner

6.  Membership
        -no Harris list at this time
        -welcome (or re-up) letter composed by Audrey

7.  Project Funding Ideas
        -web site for KIVA (on Faith’s laptop) contained:
                -grocery store in Peru
                -expand an existing beauty salon in Tanzania
                -clothing needed in Tanzania
        -developmentgardening.org
        -Opening Doors
                -non discretionary money
                -Ana Rojas and Marina Saliboob

                -regional area groups decide on fund raising and where to send the money in that                                area

8.  Mid Winter Dinner
        -entertainment - Bob Wrenn - World Music Ensemble - $250
        -set up at 5:30, eat at 6:30,  music from 7:00 - 8:30, film at the music break,
                2nd film after the music for those interested
