Minutes of the Sacramento Valley Returned Peace Corps Volunteers’ Board Meeting

1.  Minutes of the November 6, 2007 meeting
        -motion by Mark, 2nd by Steve, approved
2.  Treasurer’s Report
        -report given by Mark
3.  Adventures in Dining
        -November was held at Table 260
                -loud music, food variable
                -only 4  attended
        -no Adventures in December
        -January will be at the Greek Village Inn on University Avenue - family style
4.  Christmas Promise
        -Saturday, December 8th
        -several RPCVs have signed up
5.  International Calendars
        -about 25 to sell as of December 4th
6.  Mid Winter Dinner
        -Entertainment - World Music with Bob Wren, if possible - 7:00 to 8:30 PM
                        -vote to spend up to $250 - motion by Heidi, 2nd by Mark, approved
        -need 16 mm projector for the old recruiting films
        -tableware - Faith
        -beer, wine, cooler - Heidi
        -soda - Audrey
        -tablecloths and PA system - Faith will get them from Fran
        -name tags - Nancy
        -table set up to Sierra ll - 7 days in advance
        -suggested price for the event $5 per person, $10 per family
        -have sign up sheets available for up coming events - Peace Corps Day (Nancy); Camping Trip, Goat Roast, Foothills Picnic (Howard); Arts in River Park (Jim)
        -have a  calling committee for personal contacts about the event during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day - callers are Audrey, Steve, Faith, Heidi, Mark
7.  Calendar of events for 2008
        -need to establish this by the next meeting
8.  Goals for 2008
        -thank you letters to people who have joined the group
        -Possible new members from Harris Book list - Jim will look for this and see about getting an updated list
9.  Project Funding Ideas
        -KIVA - loan money to micro credit solutions
        -Katalysis Bootstrap Fund - money to Central America - done through Stockton
        -AMA - orphanage in Nepal - send letters and talk about progress being made
