1.    ADVENTURES IN DINING –Mehran Restaurant for June 20, 7pm.  They're at 2333 Fair Oaks Blvd.  RSVP to Audrey Wiechman, awiechman@ by Wednesday, June 18.  Next month, July 18, we will travel to Taste of Brazil 5207 Madison Ave.; watch for details in July enews.

2.    ANNUAL CAMPOUT – JUNE 20-23, STAMPEDE RESERVOIR - please contact Howard at hekoons@gmail.com, 530-888-7355.

3.    PROJECT FUNDING – We are still accepting suggestions for projects to fund.  Recently your Board voted to extend loan funds, rather than our usual grants, to the KIVA foundation.  We have now given $200 loans to Flor de Ventilla women’s cooperative in Paraguay, and Shazia M. Yahya’s group of entrepreneurs in Pakistan.  These loans will be repaid within several months, and we will leave the funds with KIVA pending our selection of another project to loan.  If you have any pet projects or suggestions for projects that need money, contact Steve Riggs (Africa projects) steve.riggs@yahoo.com, Rich Howard (Central/South America) rhoward1@surewest.net, Mark Stivers (Caribbean) mark@markstivers.com, Faith Boucher (Asia) fkboucher@ucdavis.edu.  Thanks to Andy Smelzer for the Friends of India suggestion!

4.    VOLUNTEERS FOR JUNE 26 EVENT IN SACRAMENTO – Nicole Voorhees of the Oakland office invites returned Volunteers to speak for 15-20 minutes on June 26 from 6:30-8:00 at the Arden-Dimick library, 891 Watt Ave. Interested? Contact her at nvoorhees@peacecorps.gov.

6.    PEACE CORPS REUNION AUGUST 2008 – FT. COLLINS, COLO.
Dear Peace Corps Enthusiast,

Registration is now open for the not-to-be-missed national Peace Corps & Friends Celebration in Colorado!

On August 22-24 in Fort Collins, a gathering of RPCVs, friends and family will enjoy interesting speakers, dialogs and discussions with other RPCVs on international topics, two concerts, and mini reunions. The special events include a juried Peace Corps International Photography Exhibition and the Symphony for 1000 Drums. You can participate in these and other fun events throughout the weekend.
