Managing downloads
There are three places you can go to manage your downloads on RadarSync:
My Downloads
OPTIONS menu: 'Download' tab
OPTIONS menu: 'Additional Options' tab
My Downloads
All your previously downloaded updates are stored in the My Downloads folder,
which is accessible from the main menu under My Downloads or DOWNLOADS.
The updates listed in My Downloads include files you've previously installed
as well as those you've downloaded but chosen not to install.
Clicking on an update in My Downloads will give you several options, including:
Get more info: review the information RadarSync has for you about this update.
Install update: begin the installation process immediately.
Re-download update: download the file again if you think the first download attempt
was not complete.
Delete update: delete a downloaded update file from your computer. Note that
this will not remove an update that has already been installed.
My Downloads also lets you manage your updates by choosing to:
Cancel all pending downloads, which cancels any downloads in the pipeline
(for example, if you clicked 'Download All' from the results page but later changed
your mind).
Delete all cached downloads, which clears out and delete all the update files
listed in My Downloads
OPTIONS menu
There are more options for managing your downloads under the OPTIONS menu.
Download tab
Here you can view, and change if you like, the directory on your hard drive where your
downloaded updates will be stored. You can also set a maximum time period for
downloads to be saved on your computer. The current default deletes downloads
after 30 days. Deleting downloaded files will not affect already installed updates.
Alternatively, you may also select 'Do not delete downloads'. In this case
everything RadarSync downloads for you will be saved on your computer indefinitely.
If you later decide that you want to 'clean up' this folder and delete your old
downloads, you may do so by selecting 'Delete all cached downloads' in the
My Downloads folder.
'Additional Options' tab:
This tab contains two options that allow you to keep track of your downloads even if you
plan to minimize RadarSync while you are working on other programs.
Checking 'Enable system tray icon' displays a small RadarSync icon in your
computer's system tray near the clock. This way you know RadarSync is
still running even if you've minimized the application.
By checking 'Display messages on download completion', you enable RadarSync
to display a message prompting you to install your updates once they have been
successfully downloaded.
