PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Background:
  • Our students come to us now with a wider range of cultural experiences than ever before. 
  • As children in this technological era, they must be challenged to pursue purposeful academic exploration and extended critical thought. 
Throughout this unit, our students will look to the adults around them as role models to set examples for them to follow. They will choose one famous role model and complete an in-depth report on them.
This project is in response to provide students with positive role models, and in accordance with our schools goals to increase literacy. The challenge we face is to ensure that all students achieve to their maximum potential and become role models for the next generation.

What students will understand:
  • Challenges that they will face as they mature and enter an evermore complex world
  • The values and standards that can help them make the best possible choices for the future 
  • How they can connect their learning to the people they hope to become
  • The ending project will be a place mat created by the student to represent there role model.
  • Internet technology will be used for there role model research project
