GVA Angel Flight

GVA has been contacted by a local physician who has requested an Angel Flight (AF) for one of his patients.

The patient is a 12 year old male who has leukemia and needs special treatment at the Lexington, KY Shriners Children’s Hospital. He satisfies all the requirements for an AF patient.

The flight plan is as follows:

KLWB to KLYH, Lynchburg, VA.  Here's a link to the KLYH airport diagram: http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/0709/00499AD.PDF . Pick up the patient and his mother at the Falwell Aviation FBO.

KLYH to KLEX, Lexington, KY. Here's a link to the KLEX airport diagram:  http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/0709/00697AD.PDF. Deliver to the TACAir FBO where ground transportation will be waiting.

Return to KLWB.

Pax wt = 300 lbs

Luggage = 50 lbs

Total distance = 525nm.

The FAA will clear this for a direct low altitude flight.

Any GVA aircraft is capable of making this flight comfortably.  The new Beechcraft King Air B200 is a good choice.

This is a non-critical flight so there is a 5 day period in which to schedule the flight.  All expenses are being donated by:

Johnny has agreed to provide an Angel Flight logo for any pilot who would like one on their aircraft.
