Activity
1. Write the verse on a chalk/wipe board and read it as a group once.
2. Explain the following:
Our big idea for today is "Tell the good news about Jesus." This verse tells us that those who bring others the good news about Jesus have beautiful feet. Does that mean if I tell others about Jesus my feet will become beautiful? No!
The reason this verse talks about beautiful feet is because, back in Bible times, if you wanted to tell someone else the good news about Jesus, you couldn't hop into your car and drive to their house. You just had to walk over there and tell them. And what do you use when you walk? Your feet, of course! This verse is saying that people who tell others the good news about Jesus are doing a beautiful thing!
To help us remember this, we're going to trace our own "beautiful" feet as we learn the verse.
2. Select a volunteer to erase one word of the verse from the board. Place a piece of paper on the ground and have him/her place a foot on it. Using the marker, trace the outline of their foot and write the word you just erased inside of it. Attach it to the wall using the poster putty. Read through the verse again as a group.
Repeat this process for each word of the verse. As you add additional pieces of paper, place them in the order the words written on them appear in the verse. When all the words have been attached to the wall, read through the verse as a group using the feet tracings.
